    Wow!

You actually call HQ on your mobile to get clarification of policy while you are stood there??

    That's so hardass!!

EDIT: What number do you ring?

    ;)

Not actually done it while I have been there as I would be charged for the 0800 number but I could get them to make the call for me next time!
if i had known then what i know now

I know slightly off topic but that beer promo is causing confusion. The sign says spend £30 instore to get the beer for £5 and that the spend must not include the "full price of the beer (£12)".So say you bought 2 x £12 beer plus groceries taking the spend to £38 then the promo takes off £7 for 1 x beer and the total is still over £30 why does the discount not apply.Well it didnt for the woman complaining in front of me this morning and I think she was right.Apparently they are going to change the wording to spend £30 on GROCERIES then you can buy 1 x beer for £5:rolleyes:

Well since my last post, I sent a nice email to head office and asked them to explain why I wasnt given DTD and they gave me a call yesterday and explained that the store manager was being asked why the policy isnt in use in his store and that I would recieve a £7 voucher in the post to add to the £7 I recieved instore.

    Thank you Mr Tesco :)

Good to know that Tesco Customer Service desks are still behaving like little Hitlers, i do miss my little chats with them from the RNR days.... Nothing like a call to head office to sort things out.

I never understood why the CS Staff act like you are doing something wrong and think they can over rule the big sign behind them.

    LMAO

I found an old mobile phone of mine in a drawer the other day and looked through the phonebook on it, I had Kevin Kelly's direct line number in there!! :rotfl::T:rotfl:

(For those that werent around in the R&R days Kevin Kelly was the head honcho in charge of the "Xbox fiasco" where we were all get free xbox360s)

I cant believe it got so bad I had his direct line number in my phone, I think I probably phoned half a dozen times while either stood at a CS desk or in the car park! lol
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

If she'd spent over £42 including the beer I'd agree with you, but spending only £38 is clearly not enough for the offer to trigger.
