  • I do feel for you. You must think of yourself, you have done your best for your son. Try and eat well, rest and if possible get out each day for some contact. It is hard when your children turn on you and I know you have done your best. I speak from experience as my daughter and I are estranged and it is hard but try and be strong, it is inside you.

I'm so sorry you are suffering in this way.

Try to remember that your son probably doesn't realise how much he is hurting you because he has issues himself.

You know that you've been a good Mum and the loving bond was there before his problems flared up. Hopefully, he'll come to realise that it was the drugs that he took which caused the abuse to his body and not you.

I wish you well, look after yourself and don't let his problems become yours x

Talulah is right contact the samaritans they will help you straight away and can get you proper councilling a lot quicker than any doctor can. My Boss works on their phone lines at xmas and she told me this when i was suffering with my depression as i was put on a long waiting list to see a councilor. The samaratans got it sorted for me in days rather than weeks. I hoope you are feeling better soon :-) x

Not sure if anyone else has said this but IF you are feeling suicidal and think you will act on it please go to A+E/other place of safety. That's what i was advised to do last time i spoke to Samaritains.

  • How are you doing Pickledtink? Are things looking any better for you and have you been able to access any counselling?
  • Really touched by this kindness and wisdom from people I have never met. It has helped me continue to cut down the steroids which causes daily constant miserable pain and drop out bouts of unconsciousness for many hours at a time. More importantly has helped me deeply with the emotional pain regarding my son and helped me get over the shock and fight to live for me and accept the reality that love alone cannot make another face their demons even if it is your child.
I'm trying to look after myself and put my needs first. He is damaged but I'm in no state to help right now. Any contact has been blanked by him however unconditional and loving,
I'm going on an alternative course of treatment of detox, meditation and healing.for me.
I have also decided to just let him go and can but hope he will face his own demons. Moreover he probably would benefit from learning that his mother is not open to being a handy punch bag and he is frankly a spoilt brat.
Thanks to you all. I feel much stronger now.
