As it excludes the myriad of discounts that apply to most peoples tariffs, it's probably of little use to most people.

Probably better to use one of the existing comparison sites that'll do the full job.

Edit: what's more it appears to be incorrect as it wrongly indicates a discount if you are a low user and don't exceed the tier 1 level. (as well as some other strange computational errors)

As mentioned on the page, it is only based on the tariff I am on since I can't really test it on a tariff I don't know - it works out exactly (give or take a penny) the same as every one of my bills I have ever received and shows the same total. That is why I have "excluding vat and discounts" on the total - it is like that on my proper bill.

As for not exceeding the primary units - I have fixed that. Thanks

I only thought I would share this since it comes in handy for me and would be a shame to waste it if someone else could use it...I can even monitor how much it costs me per day and find out the difference a washing machine or full days oven roast makes to my bill.

It's still wrong as it assumes maximum tier1 usage in the price ... even when the inputted figures say otherwise.

What do you mean? I can't get it to do a wrong calculation. what figures could I use to replicate the problem?

    Start meter reading: 0

    End meter reading: 1

The duration relates to how many tier 1 units are actually charged according to your calculator.

Ok. I think it is fixed now
EDIT: nope...hmmm! I will have to work out a different formula for this bit. I will take it offline until I have fixed it and let you know when it is running again.

    Cheers

    UPDATE:

It's back online...I think I have now fixed the primary/secondary units calculations and now it seems to work it out exact to the penny :)
