Well, the buyer has sent back the cd and the disc which they said does not play is scratched. It certainly wasn't sent like that, so I think they haver swapped the disc with one of theirs. I have looked at the photos we have and it is a different disc. I am supposed to be giving them a refund, but will wait until OH gets home, but I'm guessing I will have to give them it as has been said here paypal will probably favour them! I am so mad that people do things like this, but nevermind, it's done now!

Phone Paypal and discuss it with them, and offer to send them a photo of the CD you sent, and the one you received back.

DO NOT refund them at the moment. PP occasionally side with sellers...

I would send a polite email to the buyer stating that unfortunately they seem to have made a mistake, and sent back the wrong CD, as this one is very scratched, and does not have the police water mark on it that the other one did, so could they please send the correct CD back.

    Keep it polite for now...
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

They could have had a really dodgy player (or PC if they used that to copy it?!) that scratched it and now are trying to get a refund back

As PS says give paypal a ring it may help. It might work and you have nothing to loose.
  • Hi, thanks for your replies.

I think i will give paypal a ring shortly and see what they say.

Pinkshoes, After seeing what paypal say I think I will send them a polite email saying what you said.

    Thanks again, Tiger xxx

Wow, Snap, having just read all this, i have to report that I too have the same problem. I sold a Vinyl 7" pic disc as a test because I am a new seller. It sold for 99p and I insisted it was sent royal mail special delivery. The buyer paid £6.99 and I promptly sent it. The following day, they emailed to say they had received it and then went on to say it was "badly damaged and sctrached". I replied saying i would not send a badly damaged record and that i had owned the record for nearly 20 years and if they wernt happy i would refund them, even though in the ebay ad, I said no refunds.
They then opened a Paypal dispute almost immediately.
I have offered to repay half what they paid and said they can keep the record. To be honest, I can't be arsed dealing with this buyer as I was only testing the waters to see what it was like to sell. And from this experience, have decided, not to bother again, so don't care about the feedback. Any suggestions?????
Not been in here for years. Life got hectic!

Won't hold if a SNAD claim is filed (i.e. significantly not as described).
