We went in January a few years ago, it was warm enough to sunbathe on the beach but there was a constant strong breeze. The hotel pool was very cold as it did not have heating. Would go again but look for indoor or heated pool in Jan.

Hi, we went to Sharm last Feb, the weather during the day was perfect 22-26 but it got a little chilly in the evenings so take a few cardi's/long trousers etc. I didnt have any jabs, I;m petrified of needles, but the kids had Hep A I think. As long as you are sensible with the eating i.e. dont eat lots of anything you are not used to you should be safe..Always makes me laugh on the all inclusive deals where people load up on things like pineapple and booze, then blame their poorly tummies on the local food - just eat sensibly. Bottled water and no ice is always my rule and than I eat anything while away. Have a great time,
    Caz

Regarding the wifi - it depends on the hotel if its is free. Some hotels provide it free in the room or it might be free in the reception area.

Why don't you email the hotel and ask.

I was there over New Year and it was lovely. Hot during the day but chilly at night - definitely take your cardigans and jumpers!

If you are staying on New Years Eve there may be a gala ball in the hotel - ask about it when you mail them.

Hope this helps - and pm me if you have any questions.

I went a couple of December's ago. It's lovely, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Unfortunately I did get ill, I think from too much local whisky! Beware the local spirits, which is what you'll get as part of the all-inclusive deal. I got so sick and dehydrated that I needed to see the hotel doctor who put me on a drip for the night, but I was fine 24 hours later. Thank goodness for travel insurance! But I had to pay the excess there and then with Egyptian money. I'm sure you'll be fine. Have a great time.

medders2604 - I stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel as there was nowhere else available - booked literally the day before New Years Eve! It was an ok hotel but reading reviews on tripadvisor it sounds worse than what I experienced.
The NYE gala ball was great though - it was staged like the Oscars and the entertainment was fantastic (various singers, dancers) and the food was fabulous and all free!!! A great start to a week of sun!

My favourite hotel though is the Radisson.

    Hope this helps!
  • I have just come back from Sharm, no jabs neccessary. Bar called Ghazala on the beach side of Na'ama bay, 2 for one on drinks from 6 till 9pm, local beer costs 24 there so works out at 12LE per beer which is very competitive. This bar also has free wifi access. Food was ok in there too. The beach side generally was better priced for food although if you are all inclusive then you may want to eat out only occasionally. Reccommend camel bar and pomodoro (italian restaurant next door also affiliated to Camel).

Change money whilst there as the rates are much more favourable to UK. Exchange rate here was 8.4Egyptian pound to the GBP compared to almost 10Egyptian pound whilst there.

We had bad tummies for the last 4 days of the holiday, and we are still not right after 3 days back home. Maybe avoid salads which are washed in local water, and perhaps avoid ice.

You need to get a visa at the Egypt airport if you are travelling outside Sinai, or if you are going diving on Ras Mohammed, however, they apparently only check the visa's for Ras Mohammed very rarely. We skipped the visa saving £30 but that is a personal risk.

Don't eat grouper fish out there, it tastes of nothing and seemed to be a widely sold fish.

Thanks for the replies. They have been really helpful.

I was reading some reviews of the hotel I've booked with - Amar Sina. It was quite cheap.

They don't allow you to bring in any kind of drink. They even do bag searches.

Do all the hotels do that? I was going to take a travel kettle so I could make coffee when I wanted, but I won't be allowed to take in milk.

In the all inclusives - can you get coffee at all times of the day, or just certain times?

Also if I stay at their pool, will they give you soft drinks when you want?

    They also have no wifi.
