I have a budget of £20pw for two of us and have been able to stick to it thanks to all the tips that you receive on the OS board.

The best thing has been discovering Stardrops!! Has cut down the amount I spend on cleaning things!!

Oh my goodness!! I am off to the MS Old Style right now! We have a serious lack of available cash for May - my overtime and unsocial hours payments weren't given to me this month so I have to wait until the end of Mayto get them. I also have a VERY high childcare bill of £600 to pay next week (they don't take childcare vouchers before anyone asks). We normally spend between 70-90 per week for 3 and need to cut it down to just 30-40 per week. We have been doing weekly meal plans for the last 2 years and only ever buy what we eat that week, we always take sandwiches to work and have done for years and buy a lot of basics range foods and we don't eat a lot either I can't believe you can live on 25 per week, how on earth do you do it?

I'd go and have a look at black saturn's posts. She did a week of menus once that were fab, and I'm still using her 15p fruit cobbler recipe, it's so easy! She'd call £40 a week total luxury, I reckon!

Its actually not that difficult if you go in with I can do this, just need to clarify how.

Fair enough we went WELL over last month, but we are doing fine this month, and may even underspend. Last month included stuff like a vlue hand blender & blank cds, mop head and so on.

INcludes all lunches and a tiny bit of booze.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

We manage on £25 a week so it is £100 a month. Of course on a 5 week month it should be a £125 ha ha not in this house it ain't :rotfl:

£100 is for food only and nothing else. I allow £10 a month extra on top for cleaning items and loo roll etc. So we don't included cd's/hand blenders etc as we can't eat those. But does include a meat for a roast every week.

    Typical Menus

Breakfast: Porridge/bran flakes or toast. OJ for me and Apple for Husband
Lunch: Sandwiches/Soup/Toasted sandwiches/Cooked breakfast Some times there is a HM dessert but normally an apple. Also some times washed down with a cup a soup.
Tea: Spag Bog and Salad/Shepherds pie and lots of steamed veg/Rice, noodles and tuna/Steamed veg and left over meat or veggie sausages. Rice pudding or trifle for dessert. Once a week we have something like tuna/salmon or even steak with jacket pots or wedges and salad and boughten dessert.

Snacks: Husband takes crisps and Biscuits to work.

Sunday lunch is a joint of meat, roasties and with a dessert like a bought strudel with custard.

Husband often has supper which is porridge or cereal.

No halve measures as my husband needs to gain weight and I love my food but need to loose :o

Also that includes tea and coffee. Husband has decaf coffee and herbal tea as well. We buy very little in value lines apart from Juice/Jaffa cakes/Jellies (don't eat them very often)/Cornflour/Porridge/Bran flakes.

Brand items are bought on special offer like Squash and Beans.

Forgot to mention bread and pasta is wholemeal or granary.

Oops better mention that is for two of us just in case I did not make it clear.

    Yours

    Calley
