Just incase anyone needs to know...

the new Sainsburys carpark is free for 3 hours, very quiet when I went. Lovely big store, good selection of clothes.

I can't see this new Sainsburys doing much trade, as it is in a strange part of town with awful London like high rise buildings and the old store was convinient to pop into after you finish your shopping at the centre to grab a few things or a weekly shop, whereas this new one is miles away from the shops.

I did make a special journey to shop at this new store. Its a pain to get to and it doesn't seem an awful lot bigger than the old one. I won't be going there again, not worth the extra fuel and time. They were really silly to close the old store it was so handy.

Thinking of taking the kiddies for Christmas treat and never been before. Does anyone know anything about their Christmas events? What is food in packages like? Does it get very busy?
there is a space on the booking form to enter a discount code - does anyone know any??

Thank you very much for any replies.

We took our two girls there for Halloween and we absolutley loved it even though it was pouring with rain. I have to say though it was the staff that made it. They were fantastic, they made it really special. There is a restraunt and a food hall but I recomend you get your hand stamped and go 2 mins down the road to one of the many pubs on Willen Lake for lunch. It gives you a breather and pads the day out if you intend staying till 8pm for the fireworks. Toilets are nice and clean, staff on all rides kiddy friendly, entertainment team out in force all day in all weathers. BRILLIANT

Do not know of any discount codes though. I was kinda hoping they would send me one to get me to book xmas tickets!

Nope, I'll look forward to that letter (if it's being run in my area). I wonder if it's just a trial in your area, madkitty?

If they are implementing this pay-as-you-throw that'll be interesting around my area: I live set back from the road and have to walk past 4 houses to put my rubbish out. I wonder how they plan on differentiating between mine and the three other houses' rubbish?

Just had a look on the MKWeb forums:
    http://www.mkweb.co.uk/forum/home.asp?status=view&MessageID=47953&origin=47936&r=38485

That seems to suggest that green bins will be free for garden and food waste. Seems fairly sensible if that's all it is...!!

We've been advised NOT to throw kitchen waste in green bins up till now - even the trimmings from a cauli!

We don't get a lot of food waste (we've got three dogs ;)) but I think some folks green bins will be a bit whiffy after a fortnight if they are going to take food waste.........
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Anyone know who I contact as we have problems with our cable aerial? It doesn't seem to be working at all and has been off all day. Do I contact Virgin Media or BT?
I've checked the cable into our TV and the socket (we have two both connected and neither works.)
    Thanks

Strictly speaking, don't Virgin own it these days? I don't use the cable but I've just tuned mine in (needed an excuse to set it up!) and I couldn't find the old NTL / Virgin information page that they used to display. I'll see if I can find any more info out for you...

Thanks. I'm still not connected here and it seems just to be me rather than neighbours.

I read something on another forum (found via google) that there can be problems tracking down who is responsible because BT put in the cable but Virgin Media supply the signal... The forum also mentioned that the customer service at VM found it difficult to understand the Milton Keynes cable aerial system as it is unique to us.

I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see if I get anywhere.

Otherwise I may think of upgrading my TV/service to something more 21st century!

Does anyone know which of the public pools is open over the Christmas holidays? We normally go to Middleton at Newport Pagnell but they shut today until the 3rd January.
    Thanks
