Any ideas on a good place to get an MOT only? Not looking for them to do any work (I have #1 son for that, but he's not based locally.......)

If you look over on the motoring forum, martin recommends the Councils own MOT places. Not sure where there is one in MK though!

I've only had to have 2 done since living here, but I've used Arden Park both times in Old Wolverton - they've moved opposite their old place but I've never had any problems - waited there whilst it was done too (about an hour, mind... I'm glad I had my Nintendo DS!)

Ooops Raksha I thanked you instead of quoting; have a thanks on me!

I've also used Arden Park for the past 2-3 years (after asking for a recommendation on this very thread) and have been happy with the service.

Does anyone know how the car park at new Sainsburys works? Coming down to Mk today to meet hubby for lunch & do a bit of shopping but don't want to pay over the odds.

Looked on their website, but it doesn't even show that store! Thought it had been open for a few weeks now.

    Thanks

    Hi

I have only been once, but rest assured it is free parking. The parking limit for a set period of time, cant recall if it is 90min or 2hours. There are sensors which detect this fitted in the floor of each parking bay (small dome like fittings). I dont know how it works, but I guess it works.

the new Sainsburys carpark is free for 3 hours, very quiet when I went. Lovely big store, good selection of clothes.

oh and the dome sensers are so at the end of the parking bit on the ceiling it says how many spaces are free so the senser can tell if someone is in that space and how many spaces are left , and it is free at the moment :)

We bought some at Roman Way Garden Centre last year, and it didn't break the bank.

It's on the left, on the A5 just this side of Potterspury.

I can highly recommend Unit 4 Garage in Tavistock Street Bletchley for MOT's - standard charge (£53.10) but didn't seem inclined to fail for silly things that couldn't be fixed on the spot (happy to change an exhaust rubber on the spot for the cost of the part and squirt some WD40 into a seat belt socket which wouldn't play ball).
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
