Refund / feedback extortion

Someone bought a job lot of items off me at the end of July; they contacted me today to say that they had been reselling them at an "event" at the weekend, had had a lot of returns and want to return them for a refund. Without wanting to say exactly what the items are, they are things that need to be stored correctly, and I strongly suspect that he has stored them outside in the baking sun which has resulted in damage. I do not want to accept them back. (I've sold lots of these items with no other complaints). Not sure what to do for the best, other than stand firm and accept that I'll get neg'd

If he wanted them on Sale or Return he should have asked first! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

If he is returning them because he doesnt want them. If you were a business he would only have seven days. If he wants to return them because there is something wrog with them and he opened an INAD dispute in paypal he has 45 days to do that. I would try and politely tell him you do not except returns this late and see what he comes back with0

The buyer has not left feedback for you yet?
I hate it when you know something has been delivered, have left your feedback and are waiting.... and waiting..... and waiting.....0 -
I'd stand firm on this and refuse a refund due to the time that has elapsed. If he does take it to paypal for any reason I would fight him all the way.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks everyone. You confirmed what I thought, although I am aware he might still open a PP dispute. I have sent a polite reply saying that I will not be issuing a refund (and why). They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

If they've resold the items and had returns, how can he be sure the people he resold them too didn't cause the damage?
If they've had them himself and was asking for a refund, fair enough, but to sell them on, get returns and expect you to refund is pushing it a little IMO. Since if they've gotten some returns, he's obviously gotten some sales too, so they can't return them all to you can they.Sigless0 -

Yes, thanks Rev, some good points there.
He sent a nasty threatening message this morning so I reported him for feedback extortion to eBay. I also rejected his formal return request. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

Good. Forward all messages to ebay. Then if he does leave A neg you may have a good case for getting it removed0
