Theres an offer at my holiday inn for £2010 if you get married in 2010!! It's the bromsgrove one i believe. The one in Solihull has a £999 offer if anyones interested! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

i've seen a couple of people mention that they are going for the holiday inn deal, and so are we! however i think that they all seem to be doing different packages dependant on the hotel? what does your package offer?
ours is £1000, and for that we get:
accomodation for bride and groom
evening reception with sandwich buffet for 100
dj evening til midnight
room hire
drinks reception and hot buffet for 30
cake stand and sword (sword?? !!!!!!??)
exclusive use of garden for photos
civil ceremony room hire
wedding co-ordinator
red carpet arrival
we havent actually booked it yet as we havent got the deposit money yet, but we are looking to jiggle it somewhat, as we are only going to have 100 guests in the evening and the buffet ratio is normally 70/100 i believe? and we would like to have 40 guests for the ceremony and hot buffet, but we havent met with the co-ordinator just yet as she was on holiday when we went for the grand tour. we will not be booking anything until these details have been ironedalso, do you know if they do corkage or is there no point asking?
Ours is £1500 and has the same as you, but a 3 course wedding breakfast for 40, a hot buffet in the evening for 70 and a bucks fizz reception.
We're gonna book in 2 weeks.
There's a bridal fayre on there at the end of next month so i want to get it booked before then so we can (hopefully) secure our date!
I need to ask about corkage to compare whether it's cheaper buying on own or having theirs.
That reminds me, i better get on the phone and make an appointment to have a look around the place before we book lol!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

The woman said that they get 6 drinks from a bottle of wine (!!!!!!? i expect half a bottle each lol!) and a drink for a toast and that's about £6 a head.
We can easily do it cheaper even with that shocking corkage!
We've got an appointment not this saturday but next so i'll post back and let you know how we get on xxTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

Maybe they use proper wine glasses which are small as opposed to the ones you get in pubs which are large and take half a bottle.0

:rotfl:You sound like my fiance! He said sod corkage, we'll get screw caps :rotfl:, had to explain it didn't really work like that!Maybe they use proper wine glasses which are small as opposed to the ones you get in pubs which are large and take half a bottle.
Yep, I think they use 125ml glasses.
I'm used to drinking out of a glass which holds a third of a bottle:D
Just been speaking OH about it all anyway, if we like the place and the menus look decent, we're gonna go for it.
Lady I spoke to this morning said they will hold a date provisionally for 2 weeks, then it's a £300 deposit, the remainder to be paid 6 weeks before the day.
It's also £250 extra if you want the room to get married in, which we didn't factor into our budget, but what we'll get away with as it saves all the messing about carting people here there and everywhere.
So, the £1500 package is now £2K, to include the ceremony room hire and a thimble of wine each :rotfl:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
apparantly to get the registrar out of the office on a saturday is £495 here   not sure what we'll do about that after all! the room hire is included in our package but the man that showed us around did say it was £200 to decorate it so i'll ask about doing it myself, if they say no or try to put other charges then we'll just go to the registry office and just have the reception there i think.Mummy to
