Very small kitchen refit

Options
I am paying for a refit of the kitchen in my daughter's flat (yeah I am a kind Mum - what can I say??)
It is very small approx 7' x 7', leading off from the kitchen. Can anyone advise please, what would be a reasonable quote for replacing units in exactly the same place (probably around 10 I think), replacing oven and hob and new woktops.
Joiner says he can get the units through Howdens which I think from reading this forum should save a bit.
Thanks for any advice,

I'll get the ball rolling - if you do some of the groundwork yourself, anything under £4k as a starting point. And that's being extremely generous assuming you don't want granite and what have you ;)

well my individual unis cost from £23 each (basic wall cupboard with 2 shelves) to £200 (tall unit with pull out storage) so it depends a lot on what you want...worktop £100 for 3 m length

no idea on fitting costs sorry

Are the units themselves OK? Could you do doors only?

Not really - they are the old size of units and have been painted various colours in the past few years by my daughter. They don't owe us anything to be honest so I am just going to go with new ones.
Not going for anything fancy - definitely not granite woktops- just something tidy and clean.
I was hoping it might come in nearer to £3000 - is that being a bit unrealistic?

I have just had a quote from Focus for supplying a kitchen (5 base units, 6 wall units and worktop) but not for the sink, and appliances, which was £1100. I would be fitting them myself though. Most of the DIY chains are offereing good discounts at the moment, you just have to watch the quality of them!

you should easily get 10 units for less than 1000 quid at BQ/ wickes etc..
and pay a local fitter say 500 quid to fit them.

assuming you dont want a top of the range 5 stars fancy german kitchen.
    Get some gorm.

5 stars fancy german kitchen? Does that mean some English kitchens get 6 stars? :D
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Much better quality than ANY German kitchen...

Thanks for that info - so with a bog standard hob and oven and a very small area of tiling, my £3000 budget should be do- able then?:T
