There are plenty of properties in Bangor around 100-130k, depending on your requirements.0

Did i not see in the ni news last night that there are properties been sold, but the vast, vast, majority of them are for less than 160,000. (average price of a house in ni)
Also, talking to one of those mortgage advisors last weekend and he said things are starting to loosen up, but the same thing - low end of the market.0 -

Shhhh, its doom and gloom for NI properties anyone who is optimistic and can see signs of recovery is an idiot.0 -

Seatzie- got you ur message-thank you- mucho appreciated:)
Thank you all for your replies- can i ask can you recommend which areas i shouldnt go near (google maps is pretty good for looking at locations) are there localities in Bangor, Dundonald, Newtownards that are a no-no - in other words arent mixed, problems with youths, not very nice to live in- dont want to be sitting gawping out me curtains at 6pm every evening:)former_student - I can only assume your post is tongue in cheek lol

My sister-in-law used to live in a house close to this one in Dunraven Park and, although the house was small, it's in a nice area close to the Bloomfield roundabout at the top of Grand Parade. The asking price is around what you had in mind although I hear that prices are on the increase again.
I'd imagine that you be very stretched to find a bigger house in a nice area of Belfast for your budget unless you find one that needs a fair bit of work which obviously isn't ideal with a wee one.
If you spot anything you like post details of the area and I'm sure one of us can give you an idea of what it's like.Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -

I too am interested in this thread. I had heard that Milisle is a bit rough and political. Is this true or not...I really am asking out of interest as I don't know the area.MFW 148 - Mortgage £121,000 1Jan11 / Mortgage £120,300 28Jan11 / £119,808 24Feb11 / £119,400 22 April11 / £119,089 29 May11 / £118,500 October110 -
well we have lived here for 3 years and have nver had any trouble. i presume its like any other place if you arew in the estate its rough nad if your not its not. saying that i walk the dog through the estate every night and its fine. everyone is relaly friendly and you ahve the advantage of a beach on your doorstep. i love it here. belfast ards and bangor are on your doorstep and i would go to all on aregular basis sand have commuted to all three. very quickly.
when we first moved here my mum was a bit worried but we have never had a problem!love you lots like jelly tots0
