Im sooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry Effy, our laptop broke literally the day after you Emailed me!!!!! I hope you had a nice time and we actually ended up spending 2 days in Thailand on the Khoa San Road at the end of our trip. Vietnam was the business and the holiday felt a lot longer than the 19 days it actually was and you know its a good holiday!
Well, I actually have a big piece of news since my last post, on Xmas Eve Mrs MM agreed to become the real Mrs MM and accepted my marriage proposal!!!!!!!!! I had promised her I would pop the question at somepoint during the year, but it still came as a bit of a surprise and she seemed very pleased and Im chuffed aswell!
Well it appears as a result we have put the moving house on the backburner, with the economic climate as it is and a wedding to pay for we both feel it wont do us much harm continuing to overpay and increase our saving amounts. Both our jobs seem secure but its better to be safe than sorry, plus with the housing market as it is, waiting another year cant hurt! We will both continue to overpay the same amounts or even more to increase our equity. Im also increasing my payments to my pension as Im 30 this year (gulp!) and want to increase the amount I put away.
Well I will continue my posts throughout the year and I wish everybody the best of luck for 2011 with overpaying & saving! I think it maybe a tough 12-18 months, so batten down the hatches, be sensible with what money we all have and things will get better!

Sounds like you will have a busy year planning the wedding so it seems sensible to stay put for the time being. Good luck with getting the equity down and increasing the savings. You are doing so well and are so organised I can't see any of it being a problem.:pMortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999Mortgage @ 31.10.13 £14,6640 -

MM I actually thought I had developed a nasty niff or something!

Sorry to hear about the laptop, mines on its last legs now but too tight to get a new one until it completely conks out on me! I would recommend Kanchanaburi to you (being as you are a big war geek:rotfl:) if you go back to Thailand. Bridge over River Kwai, Death Railway, War Cemetery & fantastic Museum dedicated to the POW's I loved it! And I don't even like culture and stuff! Init!
Finally CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Hope you and Mrs MM have a very long & happy future together :T0 -
Mrs MM has been to all those places you mentioned on a previous trip to Thailand, now the laptop has been fixed and we are steadily making plans for the wedding, in the next week we should be able to confirm the date! We have been really lucky in that both sets of parents are giving us plenty of money towards the wedding, Mrs MM's dad even said he didnt want the wedding impacting on our reducing the mortgages and saving for a new deposit, it really has been quite humbling how much they are willing to chuck in!!!!!Millionaire in Training

Wedding Booked! Friday 27th July 2012 at a place called Wentbridge House Hotel near Pontefract. I paid the deposit yesterday! Im thinkin i may need my regular saver which will mature in the next month but I will set up another for the same amount as soon as that one matures. We are continuing to overpay on the mortgages to the current level while we save to pay for the wedding, it also gives us a good excuse for a wedding list for money towards a deposit! I do feel a bit iffy asking for money but we are also wanting a really nice dining table and chairs that will go in the house when we buy one (obv we will buy the house first) that we can sit round with our family and friends! bit off topic but we have also chosen a charity each and hope to at least raise £1000 each through favours etc with the wedding.Millionaire in Training
