I had been using very expensive shampoos for years. Most of them caused dandruff, so had to also use expensive T/Gel and Nizoral. Recently ('ve started using Sainsbury's own Tea Tree shampoo (60p). I'm on the second bottle now - it's amazing - leaves my hair soft and shiny and absolutely no dandruff or psoriasis for months!

I completely agree with ayamjay - I've used the Sainsbury's tea tree one too and it's great. The shampoo and conditioner lasted me months! Previous to that I used the boots essentials stuff too, i thought that was great as well. I'm currently on a boots own rosemary and mint one which was on offer.

It has been a revelation to me as I used to buy the expensive TIGI bed head stuff. It's lovely but such a rip off!

Now to get my husband to try the tea tree stuff rather than T-gel which sorts out his psoriasis

I got Boots essential for Dry hair (pink ne) in Boots at 58p for 1/2 litre to have a go... tried it yesterday after my swim and you know what? Just fine. Not incredibly thick, but good enough to wash the hair. I don't usually use conditioner after, just a serum to kills the frizz and I think this one will do the job. Didn;t notice difference with other shampoos to be honest and if this is like that on the first wash, I guess can only get better as the hair gets used to it. I alternate with a Mint & tee tree one form Original Source.
I think I am definetely done with expensive brnaded stuff- it is all just fancy packaging and a lot of hype. The only brand I am still happy to spend money on is Aveda. Their products are superior, and they last ages literally (I am still using the serum in a little bottle I bought a year and ten months ago and I use it every day....!!)

I've been using Sainsburys Citrus Anti Dandruff shampoo (59p at the mo) for years now and have no problems. Before I used to use Head and Shoulders. I tried Boots, Asda and Tescos versions but they gave me itchy scalp and dandruff.

    Trial and error imo.

I've tried Redken, expensive and nothing special. Also that one made to enhance blonde hair (can't think of the name) - god that was awful. Stripped my hair and made it feel and look like Wurzle Gummage :(
I use Sainsburys Tea Tree Oil one on my son's hair (to stop nits hopefully) and its fine on his.
I buy my Tresemme from Costco. A v v large pump dispenser that will last me a year. And all under £10 if memory serves!

i also like tesco coconut shampoo and conditioner, both less than a pound, plain packaging , no pump dispenser but does the job fine, hair shiny and lovely smell
  • I nearly always use alberto balsam, and it is nearly always on offer....I've never tried the tecso coconut one - but I think I shall give it a go next time.
  • Tesco coconut one is ok but watery compared to the other brands mentioned. It does smell nice though.

I use Pantene but after reading your comments I think I'll be giving Boots Essentials a try next time! I tend to spend quite a lot on different shampoos/conditioners for the family due to different hair types so any savings is a bonus!! x
