    Dont wash it

    Takes about six weeks of not washing and it will become self cleansing and no longer greasy

    :eek::eek::eek:

    Would I have any friends left by then though? :rotfl:

    Nope

    So I have never done it myself as I have seb derm and would rip my head off with the soreness but I have seen many programmes where someone has done it

    Apparently my mum used to work with a chef who never used to wash her hair. From memory I think she had dreadlocks and I remember my mum saying she had told her that at first it was a bit itchy from it not being washed but after a while it was fine.

    Try not massaging your scalp when washing as this promotes oil production.
    If you can just wash your hair with minimum friction on the scalp, you should see results.

    Use shampoos that are made specifically for greasey hair ( simple shampoo), whatever do not use conditioner on your hair, They make your hair more greasy it will make your hair go greasy five times quicker. If u really have to then use it on the very ends of your hair not in SCALP!.

    I literally only condition the very tips, like 1 inch. Is even that too much? xo

    A couple of tips are use cool water (hot encourages oil) and don't massage shampoo into your scalp, a gentle cleanse will do unless you've been somewhere reallllly dirty.

    Personally the only thing that has ever worked for me is Conditioner only washing as mentioned in of these posts, basic tips are massage into scalp for a few minutes and leave whilst showering etc, only use really cheap conditioner that doesn't have silicone etc in it and rinse rinse rinse.

    When I say cheap conditioner I mean the stuff they sell in the supermarket for 35p!

    If you google it you'll find everything you need, try this one http://hair-care.suite101.com/article.cfm/conditioner_only_hair_washing I'm sure there used to be a MSE thread too, have a search.

    Maybe a sprinkling of talcum powder well rubbed in would solve your problem.
  • Sounds perfect!!![/QUOTE]

    The shampoo I used was one from Himalaya ( you can get it on the Internet here and often they do two for one and big offers)- I love their toiletries, they are ayurvedic and with no nasties in them. I used the one with Chickpea and sesame oil... and that's was it!!
    Their products are a bit more expensive on the net here than in India (over there they are a real bargain) but well worth trying... small bottle went a very long way, even with the overwhelming pollution in the city over there ....
