Rather than worry ourselves about money and the like, let's just all swim away to a little island and sit playing ukuleles and dance underneath the coconut trees?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. HMMM...
Let's ask the Germans or Itailians how great the single european currency is?
Given the chance they would NOT have it.I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -

That is just rubbish.
The Germans had currency issues because of reunification - otherwise Euro is all upside .............unless you are a banker0 -
and who are you mdean? how'd you know it's rubbish? do you have conclusive facts and figures to prove it's rubbish or are you just giving your opinion on it?mdean wrote:Yes - I am afraid the eurosceptic and Sun readers will ensure we are stuck in the dark ages.
you obviously don't read The Sun so which paper should we read to share your (right or wrong) view on things?0 -

I dont believe that these million people in the 12 euro zone countries would have a problem to return to their old currency even tomorrow! After we ( Greece) changed to euros everything was priced higher than before without reason.
The only reason that you would want britain to join the euro zone would be that sterling is loosing its power and it is becoming cheaper compared to euros.0 -

You can usually tell when the French are a bit unhappy about things. I missed the bring back the franc riots.
Collegues who recently visited the ROI said that people prefer to visit other euro zone countries when they have a choice
Interesting positive economic analysis here

You can find the odd poll which show high anti ero feeling - like this one
http://www.stern.de/presse/vorab/?id=541124&q=eichel%20category:presse
but they are few and far between - and are balanced by pro euro polls like this one

obviously there are a range of views like here

or could get my news here http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005540264,00.html0 -
the banks will use it as an excuse to rip people off I dread to think what they will do to my mortgage if they had to convert it to euros, but it's a safe bet it will go up.Barclaycard 3800

Your assuming a majority view, you have no evidence to support it
Open your eyes and see how much better european countries and the euro is doing than the UK
hi applehead
ok, here we go. I am assuming that there is a majority against the euro in the uk as our elected leaders who wish to send us in the euro direction, have said that they will only do so after a referendum. Given that they have a pretty good idea how a referendum would go, they've dropped the idea like a stone. Your right, I have no evidence - but if laughing boy thought that he could pull it off, he would have done by now.
As for other european countries, opening my eyes and seeing how they are doing - I have no real interest in european countries, I never visit them, have no friends/relatives in europe and to be honest I couldn't really care much about them. I do seem to recall some nice French people having large open air barbecues a month or so ago, and that Germany had record unemployment figures of over 5.2 million12.6 of the population, but quite frankly, I'm not to fussed.
I prefer to spend my time on improving things for my family, friends, work collegues etc than concerning myself with the eu.

I did read a little while back that the Norweigian economy was performing very well at the moment.0
