Setting of interest rates is out of "our" hands anyway. The government no longer sets them, instead they are set by an unelected and largely unaccountable panel chosen solely by the Chancellor - the Monetary Policy Committee.
Why is it that when a majority descision goes against someones opinion, the majority are always said to be misinformed (posh speak for wrong) by the minority ?
Besides theres nothing wrong with being in a minority.
A man, a great deal more knowledgeable than me once said "just because you are in a minority, does not mean that you are wrong "

I seem to remember a couple of years ago the pathetic "sheep" mentality of the idiots who had the EU flag on their car registration plates as wanting to be part of a group "hug". That ended pretty quickly!! Same applies to the Euro in my personal view! Get a life!!There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0

The eu stars round a GB on the number plate is to stop having to whack a nasty GB sticker on the paintwork - basically more car drivers go to europe now so a better system.
As for the euro I think the millions in 12 countries whose currencies are interchangable while we remain a backward old fashioned island who feed unneeded costs to the bankers!0 -

Who gives a **** for the bankers! The fact is that the Euro and the whole EU is doomed in the medium term and will crash into oblivion. There is no way that the lazy, stagnant, protectionist EU economies can compete with the likes of Asia. Please continue to stick your head in the sand! There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -
Oh, who cares, really?
Either way, we're still going to be pretty unimportant in the eyes of our government, whichever party they are, and whichever currency we have.
Euros, pounds, dollars, yen, whatever...it's all a load of toss.
I don't care about either integration or loyalty or whatever other arguments everyone is going to have - at the end of it, we're still going to be poor no-hoper bums with very little of whatever currency it is in our pockets.
I say let's just have a commune instead.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

going off topic for a mo - my car (at the time) was the first Rover 75 to have the Cross of St George on its number plate. My one poor claim to fame.

Your assuming a majority view, you have no evidence to support it
Open your eyes and see how much better european countries and the euro is doing than the UK0 -
my eyes are open and i simply can't see it.. so please explain it to me.0

The ordinary working guys in Spain and Greece I've talked to can't see it either.0
