  • Well a fairly money saving weekend. I've planned all my meals for this week and did a couple of shops over the weekend. I'm hoping to at least stick to the £300 shopping budget but I have a sinking feeling it's not going to happen thanks to my OH. I did try to go shopping without him but he insisted so things went in the trolley that weren't on the list.

Anyway, it's the first of the month so rejigged my totals. I'm a bit short on the bills account due to a VERY expensive electricity bill so I'm pleased I've got an email from Quidco saying it's been paid which can cover that. :T I've still not found my electricity meter yet, so I need to collar one of my neighbours to see if they can help by telling me where theirs is! I did check my water and gas meters though and these were both correct. (Unfortunately in the case of the water meter as that is now £47 per month as we underpaid last year!).

I also managed to list a few items on ebay - I'm hoping to do a couple a day to a) clear my junk cupboard and b) make sure I don't have to take loads of packages to the post office in one day. I might even look into the turbo lister I've seen mentioned on here.

Another quick update and to add my to-do list! I took a skirt back on Friday that I had been thinking about keeping. I didn't need it and I didn't have anything that went with it (I would have needed a new top as well!) so that's £20 back into my account. I also sort of cancelled the gym membership. We're still planning on playing badminton, which if we go once a week is cheaper with a membership, but only one of us needs to have one so we cancelled OH membership and we'll review this in a couple of months. If we're/I'm still not using it often enough I'll cancel my membership as well.

So my to-do is looking like:
    • Toluna/Check email for surveys
    • Scratchcards
    • Finish sort out paperwork/file
    • Washing (another load done this morning still more to go!)
    • Find electric meter (speak to neighbours about this!)
    • Take electricity meter reading
    • Think about setting up Egg Money Manager to make it easier to check my accounts
    • Collect library books (can't do this till Thursday)
    • List 3 items on Ebay
    • Check when MOT is due on my car
    • [STRIKE]Check Bank accounts[/STRIKE] Done this morning, updated spreadsheets

Not a lot happening at the moment. I managed to list 4 items on Ebay last night and I now know when to book my MOT for (luckily after payday!) but not a lot else

    Todays list is looking like:
    • Toluna/Check email for surveys
    • Scratchcards
    • Finish sorting out paperwork/file
    • Washing
    • Find electric meter (speak to neighbours about this!)
    • Take electricity meter reading
    • Think about setting up Egg Money Manager to make it easier to check my accounts
    • Collect library books (can't do this till Thursday)
    • List 3 items on Ebay
    • Check when MOT is due on my car
    • [STRIKE]Check Bank accounts[/STRIKE] Done this morning, updated spreadsheets

Should be a NSD day as well. :T

Do you do any other survey sites or is it just toluna.
  • Just toluna

I tried a couple of other ones but I always get told I'm not what they are looking for or that they survey is full.

Not a NSD day yesterday as I had to buy some milk and I got the new WW mag and some WW sweets at my meeting. :o I didn't manage to list anything on Ebay either so hopefully get that done tonight.

My quidco money hit my account so I transferred the amount needed to top up the shortfall of the bills account. I need an MOT & Service done on my car at the end of the month so I've also transferred half the money for that into my savings account.

I'm going to collect my books from the library on the way home so I can take part in my bookclub this month without spending anything. :T And I think OH wants to go to B&Q so I'm going to take back an item we bought and then saw for a quarter of the price elsewhere.

Have you tried dooyoo, there is a thread on here. You right a review on almost anything and you earn 50p, new members can write a maximum of 5 a day, you have to write a review that contains info on the product, it has to have opinion etc. You can then read other reviews on the site and rate them and in return they are likely to read and rate you, so you could end up with another 50p (ish) for the same review. you can cash out at £20 for amazon voucher or £50 for a cheque. the reviews do have to be written well, and they have to be relevant.
  • I might look into that. I'm not sure how good I am at writing reviews but I guess I could give it a go and see what happens. Thanks.

  • A fairly quiet weekend. We went to see friends but the hotel and the train tickets had already been paid for, all in I spent just under £25.00. However, I have a work night out tomorrow which is another £25.00 (if I don't get any extra drinks apart from the one included) and I have £41.00 in the bank and £24.50 in my purse. Luckily I also have the groceries money seperate so this is very doable.:money:Makes a change from me spending money without thinking. I have aready transfered the money for my car service/MOT into my savings account although I am thinking about booking this (prepay in advance to save £5.00) and getting the money out so I can't spend it on anything else and think 'it's ok I'll pay for it out of next months money'. Again what I would have done in the past...

I have 10 items listed on Ebay and am currently making £4.22 :rotfl:Still a few days to go though so you never know. And anything chipped off the credit cards will help.

I also set up money manager on egg so now I can log in once to check my accounts which will save me time in the mornings.

    So my to-do list is:
    • Toluna/Check email for surveys
    • [STRIKE]Scratchcards[/STRIKE] Done this morning before work
    • Finish sorting out paperwork/file
    • Washing
    • Find electric meter (speak to neighbours about this!)
    • Take electricity meter reading
    • Book MOT
    • List 3 items on Ebay
    • [STRIKE]Check Bank accounts[/STRIKE] Done this morning, updated spreadsheets
    • Collect outstanding wedding gifts from Debenhams :j
    • Plan meals from storecupboard/freezer buy any needed groceries from list

  • Hit a rut, not a lot going on. Waiting for my ebay items to finish, need to list more although this hasn't happened as yet. :o We went and collected the last of the wedding gifts yesterday :jWe now have a kettle that biols without the lid popping open. :D

I managed to stick a load of washing through the machine (and hang on the airer and various hangers), strip and change the bedding (so washing bin no less full ), empty and reload the dishwasher, check my bank accounts, update spreadsheets and do my scratchcards all before work. Still not managed to find a neighbour to ask where the electricity meter is :rotfl:

No hopes of a NSD today. Didn't bring in lunch so got an M&S meal deal (£3.00 for samdwhich, drinsk and crisps) on the way into work and am out tonight for bowling (£25 for 2 course meal, game and cocktail). I took £20 out the bank this morning and I have just over £20 left in there to last me to the 24th September when I get paid.
