I tried the epilator and managed about 4 hairs! :rotfl:I will try again tonight though. My wax is booked Wednesday so I still have a couple of days to see if I can do this and cancel.

Cheapish weekend. We were away but the hotel was prepaid for and it was a friends houseparty so no food as such and we took some wine we had leftover from the wedding as a gift. We were in Hampton which I have never been to before so we went to the palace but only did the gardens and the maze as that was all we had time for. Cheaper than paying for the full entrance ticket and not using it :money:I am kicking myself though as if I'd been more organised we could have used clubcard vouchers for the tickets. Never mind, next time.

Today is payday. I have transfered the money for bills and what I have said we should spend on food (still high but baby steps - at least this month we have a proper food budget!). I need to update my SOA as my wages were more than I guestimated (I went from weekly temp pay to monthly pay) and I have a couple of direct debits that are changing (car insurance being one of them for next month). I also need to reguster with a new bingo site (and get cashback through quidco) for free scratchies and I want to get my credit reports. Not that I am sure what I am looking at with those but I'll get them and then ask on here. :D

Still doing my Toluna Surveys so getting closer to my first voucher! And I want to get ebaying this week whilst they have no insertion fees. Busy, busy. I don't think I've forgotten anything...

Get the professional waxing done, then start epilating as soon as the first crop reappears. It's definitely easier if there is only a few to attack!!

This may sound like a silly question but does it matter how short they are? Or do I just get in there as soon as they show?

Expensive day today. Travelcard paid for the month and I took my drycleaning in - £24.97

My to-do list is so long it won't fit in my diary so here are the things I need to get done (not necessarily all today but a lot of these have been on the list since the beginning of the month!):
    • Toluna/Check email for surveys
    • [STRIKE]Join a St Minver Bingo site[/STRIKE] Did this morning before work!
    • [STRIKE]Scratchies[/STRIKE] Did this morning before work!
    • Sort out paperwork/file
    • Transfer some clubcard vouchers into cinema tickets
    • Washing (this is ongoing, I hung one load out to dry this morning and I need to catch up!)
    • [STRIKE]Request credit reports[/STRIKE] - Partially done - have access to Equifax, waiting for pin for CallCredit and need to send some information off to Experian
    • Take a water meter reading
    • Think about setting up Egg Money Manager to make it easier to check my accounts
    • Cancel leisure centre gym membership
    • Update my bills list with MBNA monthly payment, 3 phone bill, car insurance dd amount
    • Update SOA to show correct amounts for the above as well as wages and travelcard amounts (both of which I got wrong!)
    • Send necessary info to Experian to complete credit report request
Once these are all done I can start listing on Ebay and I want to get as much of that done in the next week to take advantage of no instertion fees!

Tonight we have a mystery shop so dinner out will essentially be free when they pay me for that!

A good epilator will catch hairs waxing can't so get in there! Stretch the skin a bit like they do with waxing and try to go against the hair growth so they all stand up. I don't find my skin is as smooth as waxing exfoliates at the same time, but I also don't get the ingrown hairs I used to. :T

Should be a NSD today. Fridge is starting to get empty but I'm hoping to hold out for the weekend when I can go to Lidl.

Still a lot to do on my to-do list:
    • Toluna/Check email for surveys
    • [STRIKE]Scratchies[/STRIKE] Did this morning before work!
    • Sort out paperwork/file
    • Transfer some clubcard vouchers into cinema tickets (I have all my vouchers with me today - £37!)
    • Washing (this is ongoing, I hung one load out to dry this morning and I need to catch up!)
    • Take a water meter reading
    • Find electric meter (I went to take a reading this morning and discovered I don't actually know where the thing is! :rotfl:)
    • Take electricity meter reading
    • Think about setting up Egg Money Manager to make it easier to check my accounts
    • Cancel leisure centre gym membership
    • [STRIKE]Update my bills list with MBNA monthly payment, 3 phone bill, car insurance dd amount [/STRIKE]I just did this
    • [STRIKE]Update SOA to show correct amounts for the above as well as wages and travelcard amounts (both of which I got wrong!)[/STRIKE] Done!
    • [STRIKE]Send necessary info to Experian to complete credit report request - Have the things with me, just need to take copies/send off[/STRIKE] Done!
    • [STRIKE]make small payment to MBNA (egg card payment is allocated £90 on my SOA, actual payment taken was £87.11) [/STRIKE] Done, along with £290 now I've budgeted for next month
WW tonight although I'm half tempted not to go as I had a bad week. :o And then dinner at MIL so free food :T

Here's my updated SOA with the correct figures for things!

I've asked my OH to give me an extra £150 per month towards groceries. I know that £300 per month is still excessive but at least we have a budget in place and if we can get in under that I will gradually reduce it so he doesn't notice :D

There was a problem with my waxing appointment so I couldn't get it done. And then I return to work to discover my lunch has gone from the fridge so I had to buy lunch. I totally forgot about the wax when I said earlier that today should be a NSD!

So total spent - £2.64 and I need to put petrol in the car later.

I also paid £292.89 off my MBNA card. I had ummed and ahhed about keeping the money in my account and if it was there the day before payday I would clear it. But then I though if it's there I'm more likely to spend it, so it's gone from my account. Now to crack on with the other things...

    Hi knitty,

£300 is quite high for groceries, I know exactly where you are coming from though, it is so easy to spend even more. I have joined the grocery challenge for September, I have put myself down for £300 but want to make it £250, although I feel nappies might take us over, it shouldn't be long before potty training starts, so hopefully I can get rid of nappies and wipes soon. I have found that since I have started looking at my budget, that I have been cooking much nicer homemade meals, I make twinks hobnobs that I found on here, they are delicious. I make my own pasties, pies, pizzas, shepherds pies and freeze them. I am still learning, but hopefully September will be a good month for groceries.

Also what survey sites do you do, I tried toluna, but gave up as the points were never added. I now do lightspeed, global test Market, ipsos and valued opinions. I also do dooyoo.
