Well its less than 16 hours til I do what i've been putting off for the past couple of years. Have filled the forms in, submitted them, got the fee together, and my partner with me for support. Got the funny tummy which i guess is normal? (is it)
Will the judge or anyone ask me how i got the fee?
it was a loan of all things from my partners dad, paid back when ever we can

Good luck for tomorrow then.
With regards to your fee, there was someone on here who was asked by the OR. If you do get asked I wouldn't mention about paying it back. But that's just me.
Anyway, good luck again.:beer:BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0 -

Well, scuse the typo's i'm dunking my biscuit in me tea - I now joke (albeit poorly!)
We went throught the security metal detector where security guard (nice bloke, good sense of humour) took us into waiting room to see the clerk. It was 9:15 so first ones in.
The clerk then went through our paperwork, nice lady, we swore an affidavit I think it's called or on the bible if you wish. She took our payment and asked us to wait outside for the judge. We weer in there for bout 20 mins
waited 5 - 10 mins for judge then were shown in by the nice security guard. A cold room but a friendly, polite judge. He asked us had we had financial advice, looked at our paperwork asked if we'd set up an IVA (hadn't) then told us we was granting br.. 30 secs - 1 minute at the most
told to go back into clerks room where we spoke to her about bank accounts etc then she rand OR's office where we spoke to OR, he wanted to know off hand our bank accounts and sort codes and asked was there any matter urgent . told us about our interview that would be forthcoming. A very nice chap, who had a calm and friendly manner.
After that we left with our paperwork. All in all a pleasant experience. It's bizarre really. The whole thing took just over an hour.
Good luck and I bet you have a similar story tomorrow

Hi
And good luck for tomorrow.
I went BR last week and it was a drop in service but I got there at 9.30 to wait for the desk to open at 10.
I then spent half an hour with the clerk who checked my forms were correct, I signed and swore on the affadavit.
I then had to wait to see the judge (all of 5 minutes) and had a chat with him in his chambers, again all of 5 minutes. He asked me if I had taken advice and did I know the implications of bankruptcy. We discussed other options, just having a chat really and he agreed it was my best way forward. He then said as of 10.45 today you are declared bankrupt and that was it! Went back to the clerk who gave me my BR certificate. I didnt speak with the OR there and then (wasnt their policy) but it is common in most courts to have a quick chat and run through basics such as bank account etc. My OR rang me later in the day.
I thinks its pretty much like that in most courts, you may have to wait around longer to see the judge, if you do have to see him/her, not everyone does.
Good luck, you will be champion!
