Hyderabad - saftey advice & should i go?

Hello

I am due to go to Hyderabad for an international conference held at Hyderabads #1 hotel and convention centre. There are a lot of delegates expected and I am somewhat worried since the GB badminton team withdrew from the competition for fear of lets say 'hostile interference'.

I have spent a lot of money on flights, visa, hotel, conference fees the foreign office warns of a significant threat. I don't want risk my life for this conference but I also don't want to lose the money I've put out. I have annual worldwide travel insurance.

Any help? opinions?
