Changing iphone from PAYG to contract
My son is nearly 16 and obviously can't get a contract iphone (and no I'm not prepared to take one out on his behalf!) so he has saved his money and now has enough to buy one on PAYG.
What he wants to do is have it on PAYG until he is 18 and then change it to contract. Can he do this without buying another iphone? Do they give him a new sim or just update the sim he has?
He's worried that for some reason when he changes to contract he won't get the unlimited data that's included in the iphone tariff.

Why not sign up the simplicity monthly contract?
I believe under the current contracts it would work out alot cheaper, £20 a month one will let you choose the unlimited bolt on plus you get more text + minutes.
the link is here with all the sim only deals (plus they are only 1 month roling contracts!)

By the way I am currently considering pay as you go iphone but currently trying to justify the payout for the iphone 16gb 3gs but I would rather pay the big amount and have a simplicity than get stuck in a 24 month 37quid contract with no way out of!0

Also if you go via quidco you should be able to re-coop a bit of money, use to £100 but ended yesterday I think.0

If he's nearly 16, that means he has at least 2 years before he can get a contract. I doubt he'll still be wanting a 2 year old phone then!
Anyway, under current circumstances, he couls switch to simplicity for £20/month and select the unlimited web bolt on. He'd keep his original number etc. Things may change in 2 years, but I'm sure it'll still be possible to do what he needs then.0 -
Thanks - I did say that there'll probably be a new phone out by then that he wants!!
He said he just wanted to make sure - just in case!xxx Nikki xxx0
