  • We also opted to use doxycyline with no side effects. You need to start tatking it a week before you go but you need to start taking Malorone one day before so you could try the cheap tablet and see how it affects you. You can buy these drugs abroad and they are a lot cheaper soyou couold possibly wait until you get where you are going but some drugs are copies and you must use a reliable source.

You onl;y need to use doxycyline or malrone if you are going to a choloquine resistant are otherwise there are other cheaper alternatives. Have you looked on line or checked with your GP?

I don't fancy doxycycline littlestar, OH got very sick on it once so it scared me a bit.

2 months in TZ, wow, lucky you! What are your plans?

Last October I volunteered at an 'orphanage' called Forever Angels Baby Home in Mwanza, in the north of Tanzania. Am leaving my employment through a ridiculously generous voluntary redundancy scheme, so am paying off all debts then going back to volunteer again. Can't wait, I miss the babies so much.

Oh and I'll visit Zanzibar on the way home :j

A 'wee' up-date, i bought my malarone over internet at weekend from Boots on-line for £48.05 (21 tabs) but got 3.5% cashback from top cashback so it came down a bit. if you are purely looking at tabs cost Lloyds pharmacy were 1p cheaper per tab. Our local Boots chemist quoted £67!!!!:eek:.

Just out of interest we bought (on prescription) Doyxcyline in Singapore (Hospital dispensary) and India. Works out at just over 1p per tablet.
