Cheapest place to buy Malarone online?

I have a prescription for Malarone (malaria tabs) but no idea where is the cheapest place to get it. I know some online pharmacies do it, does anyone know of any?

TIA.

  • If you pop malarone tablets into the search thread there will be at 2 threads with quite recent info about where's best to find cheapest malarone on-line
  • I went to Asda and it was £99 for four weeks worth, and that was cheap.

Where are you going, as there are other types of Malaria tablet you can have, GPs seem too keen to prescribe Malerone...

  • Woooo Hoooo!! Do I know you lol, I'm going to Tanzania in 2 weeks and 5 days!!!! I'll be there for 2 months!!

I always buy Doxycycline, it's £5 for a months worth, it's also an antibiotic so helps avoid stomach infections and the like. You could always buy a weeks worth for £1.50 then get more when you are there, they're less then a penny a tablet over there!!

The only side effect is photosensitivity, so extra suncream...

  • I found Boots online to be the cheapest, on the off chance I phoned my local pharmacy and they under cut the Boots price. May be worth speaking to your local pharmacy to see if they can help. This was for Malarone. When I went to The Gambia and I took Malarone due to the high risk of Malaria, also looking into the side effects of the other types I went with Malarone although it was more expensive.

  • I can vouch for doxycyline being the best alternative but ONLY if you take it every day with a pro-biotic tablet to stop you being sick by replacing the bacteria that is killed by the doxy.

  • We got ours from Boots on-line pharmacy though their website can be a bit temperamental. Others on the Tripadvisor site have used these two. http://www.travelpharm.com/

In addition, I totally recommend Travla Probiotics from here http://www.dtecta.co.uk/travla.html We ate our way all round India without getting Delhi Belly once - great stuff!
