but if the csa are saying thats the only way, what can i do!?!
they are trying to contact her to say that i am paying the money and if it was late this month its because the date that it was due to some out of my account was a saturday! she'll probably try and blame me for the uk banking system next!

Why do the CSA pander to that? If they can turn around and say to you, this is the only way to pay ... but have to go to the trouble of trying to explain to her why a DD wouldn't clear on a Saturday. Duh.

I was recently contacted by the csa as my ex had decided to go through them ...

How recent is this .. surely if it is only a few months ago, and you have been paying regularly then I can't see the CSA going down the DEO at her behest. However, you do state that you have arrears, so how many payments have you missed? Obviously we are only hearing one side of the story, but if you have accumulated a number of missed payments then the CSA will go down this route.

If you feel that this is really unjust, I would complain to them through their own complaints page on their site at :

Apparently you only have to miss one or two payments for them to enforce a DEO. It sounds really unfair if you have been ontime since she contacted the CSA but once in force they are hard to stop.

They contacted me 3 months ago, i missed a month while they were sorting out my case, to pay the arrears off for that month we agreed to pay extra per month until that figure is paid off. i have another 2 and a bit months to clear the arrears which of course i am going to do, i haven't missed a payment but as it says above this months was 3 days late due to banks not working on a weekend.

Whichever is geographically closer, I suppose. Although your mail comes from a Crewe address, it is probably being dealt elsewhere. The Crewe address is a generic one they use for almost all mail.

Remember to include times, dates and names of people that you have dealt with in your complaint.

    Good Luck
