Tickets bought by friend but won't pass on

A friend bought tickets which I reimbursed him for, for an upcoming event, but being in the unfortunate financial climate I am no longer able to go and as such need to sell on my ticket in order to cover the cost of the ticket as much as possible. However, despite my many requests for the ticket, my attempts have been dismissed.
Does anyone know if i'm in any legal situation which I can force getting the ticket or have any other suggestions?
Many thanks

Why won't he give you the ticket? He doesn't sound like much of a friend?0
-
i don't know!!! and yes you right, fastly becoming not much of a friend!0
-
Why didn't he give it to you when you paid him?0

tickets were pre-purchased before the tickets were released, which they have been now which is why i need to get the ticket0

Oh I see. Do you know his family - can you get one of them to have a word with him?
Is he a generally reliable type or has he done this kind of thing before to other mates? That might affect how you handle it.
Have you tried asking him for your money back rather than asking for the ticket?0 -
What does your mate say when you ask him for the tickets? He must give some sort of reason?0

the ticket is for the V-festival weekend and therefore quite expensive. I realise I can't just ask for a refund from him and that it is my responsibility to sell the ticket myself.
Don't have any knowledge of this happening previously0 -
But surely he knows he can't keep the ticket AND the money you paid him?
He sounds like a muppet.
There's an old saying about " If you lend someone £20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it."
Better to find out now that he's an unreliable thief, over a relatively small amount of money, than to have him do the same thing later in life over a larger amount.
Name and shame him.
If he's on Facebook or Twitter post it and we'll all send him some reminders. :rotfl:0 -
You can't sell the ticket until he gives it to you - surely he knows that.0

He's probably going to sell it on himself.....0
