    £950 to retrieve lost data?
Was it encrypted with a military algorithm or something??

I take it this is more than just a basic data retrieval?
    Still robbery though :(

Just been told my data is recoverable now they have changed the shorted out board on the hard drive...........wait for it....for the princely sum of £950 :eek::eek:

I have most of it from the nice IT man who recovered my back up but really DO need the last 4 weeks as there's some really importnat stuff on there.....and the price quoted is AFTER a prolonged negotiation......it's daylight robbery.:mad:

Will have a think about whether it;s worth it while I'm away..and I will be able to offset it against tax as a business expense..(Needless to say this is not covered on the insurance - only replacing the laptop)

    :(

Holy cow...could you not just buy the exact model of drive off ebay and swap the boards yourself?
