Phone not charging? Read this doh!
My Nokia 6300 started to pack up. Problem was the charger socket on the bottom of the phone had become loose and the charger plug would not go in and click. I could sometimes charge it by balancing the phone in a special way so that the plug was oriented just right. As time went by even that stopped working.
I googled and found this was a common problem with 6300. So I bought a new phone.
Afterwards I wondered if I could take 6300 to bits to replace charger block and had a really close look at how the plug went in. Guess what the charger hole is really tiny on modern Nokias and there seemed to be something in it. I got a fine sewing needle and poked it around in the hole - you would not believe the amount of fluff and rubbish that came out lol! Every time I thought I had got it all I wiggled the needle a bit and got even more out.
Phone charges fine now. I can't believe I was so dumb. It does all look nice and clean from the outside though.
