Neutral left for no reason?

  • Surely it's in their best interest to message first? I would have offered the lady who left me a neutral a refund (on return) if they'd got in touch with me:rolleyes:

Precisely, which is why I question as to if there REALLY is a problem!

In future you should consider adding measurements of any garment you sell as 'true to size' is pretty meaningless and shops cut their patterns to different proportions. I personally wouldn't ever buy clothing from eBay without knowing relevant shoulder/chest/waist/hip/inside leg measurements. She perhaps should have asked before bidding but equally, you can help avoid problems by being as descriptive as possible.

Agree, medium doesn't mean anything - I have clothing in my wardrobe from sizes 12-18, all of which fits.

Not always, You may have bought an item you may be happy enough to keep it but believe the sellers description was misleading. So you leave a neutral. So theres no point contacting the seller as you don't want a refund

I can understand your point, but I didn't sell item as true to size, I was just getting across the point that I am a uk 8 or 10 and that the item fit me and was purchased as womenswear, not kids clothing.

I don't think you've quite got my point. By just stating a size, you're providing pretty meaningless information because the nature of clothing sizes are very varied. My point is that in future, you might help to avoid this problem with buyers if you include full measurements in your listings. You also might garner more bids as buyers often don't bid on clothing when the listing details are vague.

You also could assume that if they USUALLy buy a medium from (for example) M & S, and you are advertising an M & S top, size medium - you've given them enough info! For pete's sake, if I started measuring every inch of everything I sell, The time it takes to list anything would eclipse the profit value. If it's a size MEDIUM, i put SIZE MEDIUM in the listing.
No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!:D

    Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target :(

I'm with you on this one! It just wouldn't be worth doing, for what you get for some items on ebay, it takes long enough to load the items on, nevermind measuring every inch,I really think people know what size they are in certain brands generally.
If it does'nt fit then sell it on ebay, the size written in the item was stated, not my fault she did'nt fit into it and behaved like an idiot!
