any one going to the rochdale town hall fair? on the 13th of sep :T
  • I went to NEC show in March and it was fantastic! Loads of things to see and the most amazing Catwalk shows. I am going to the NEC show in October and can't wait, taking the girls with me :j
  • I went in October last year and was quite disappointed to be honest. I went to the one in London (Earls court) and thought I'd get loads of good freebies but just got a plastic bag full of leaflets with a tiny bar of chocolate and a 1 week trial of perfectil hair and nails supplement. Also got a free wedding planner book but I think that was because I filled out some survey online beforehand. Not really worth the money we spent getting to London and the £14 per person we paid to get in (had a 2-4-1 code that was accepted but then DIDN'T WORK when they transferred me to their payment site [ticketmaster or the like] so ended up paying £28 for me and H2B)

Not trying to put people off going; the catwalk and live makeover shows were really good, plus I got my makeup done free by Helen E (looked awful, but still fun)! It was still really fun to get ideas and find things I like that I could then try to make myself or source elsewhere (ehem, eBay) later. But in terms of actually buying anything or booking suppliers I found everyone represented there to be either the big nationwide companies who are really overpriced or only based out of London, so not really relevant nationally. Overall, I've found the local wedding fairs I attended better as they're more relevant to me and usually free.

Also, if you want to try on dresses DON'T take H2B! Seems obvious enough, but I didn't think of that and then there was a company selling off sample dresses that were all under £200; saw a couple I really liked but couldn't try them on--doh!

  • Hi,
The Harrogate one is for everyone on the weekend of 26th Sept, I'm going and can't wait, brides get in free too!!
I went to the NEC in March with the OH and thought it was fantastic, we're going again in October.
Have been desperately trying to find some promotional codes for this but doesn't look like there are any this time around.
We got loads of ideas last time and quite a few nice freebies so I was well pleased with it.
Enjoy and see you there :j

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I'm going to the NEC on 10th October - but there are fayres round here every Sunday for the past few weeks and for the next few too (shame we're away for most of them!).

I used 'WEDDING' code out of Wedding magazine (think you just get a freebie extra or summat) but I saw a better discount one in the Daily Mail (can't remember what the code was now though!

Just hoping for some good ideas really!

Thanks Linda - I can't go as I have too many commitments here so I shall await your report on the BBEH. Hopefully, I will go in March, but in the meantime I will carry on looking at the pre-show guide that they sent me.
  • Hi, does anyone know a website for Wedding fairs in London, especially North West London and perhaps Luton? I know there's one in Luton this saturday and I intend to go for that one.

Try looking in your local free papers as that is where wedding fairs are usually advertised.
