Will you be able to make minimum payments Taxi? I guess you would prefer that to reduced payments.

Hi Taxi - one step at a time, hey - don't borrow trouble from the future about the payments, you're okay where you are right now, you've got bigger things on your plate. Tho I know how badly you want them out of the way, of course.

I'm not sure Dragon as we don't know what's coming in day by day....but there is a lot to go out with the car to keep us in business ....before the end of july....

DHs badge and pit test is due by end of July and his tax payment.

The 3 loans and 2 CCs min payments.....come to £829.92 per month.

We then have mortgage and normal bills....need to add those up.

    Then food shopping...

    Then subs...£152.75 p/w
    Diesel.....£100 ish per week

DHs badge if he's not due medical and CRB this year is about £90 but if he needs medical and CRB I can add at least another £100 to that.

For the pits....I need to have car serviced....£200 ish,valeted...£130ish,paint job £40,pits test itself £165ish plus any thing else like brake pads tyres needing replacing.

Luckily that lot isn't due until the end of july..along with DHs tax....

I'm sure I'll have enough to pay this months bills....

Next month may be different though ....

I really need the consultant to do that form so that at least if I have to miss next months payment I can say that they'll get paid in full from insurance.....as I'm pretty sure they'llpay out.

_pale_My God. The expenses of your business really add up, don't they - I knew about regular services, but I didn't realise that lot. I hope he'll do the form soon, Taxi.

It does add up Karma..the fun starts when we need big repairs..like clutches and fly wheels at roughly £1400 a go!!!!

I do have DHs empty CC here for that sort of emergency but if I reduce payments on my loans then I'm sure they'll take that away.

If i don't get this little lot paid for the taxi won't be on the road..so no income.

So it is a fine balancing act..lol
  • Taxi, take any help that comes your way ie the Macmillan grant. Three good reasons, I can think of -
:jIf you qualify, you get it and it seems to me that with all your other outgoings, you qualify! Please don't worry about 'deserving' it less than someone else (really sorry if I've read you wrong).
:jIf you feel that strongly, look at it as a helping hand (don't have to pay it back so no pressure) - maybe you can sell some of your strawberries and donate the proceeds later or do a race for life type fun walk with the grandson or something in the future to put something back. I got mine and then, coincidentally, the kids did a benefit gig for them a few months later and put it back in the pot and then some (see, it's already covered, haha) :D.
:jLook at it as less work for your OH to have to do!

In the meantime, take any help that you are offered (meals etc) if it'll let you and OH have a bit more chill time before and after the op...

:naughty::naughty::naughty: Deserving! I didn't catch "deserving", thanks Lenza - Taxi, please don't think about deserving! If you fall within their parameters for grants or aids, then take it/them. Please!

  • Hi Taxi,

Take the help that's offered. Absolutely agree with Lenza that the Macmillan grant will be paid back over time by yourself and your family (or someone else and their family, there's no obligation on anyone) - it's how the fund exists and continues - they have to give it away to keep it - if that makes sense.

It also goes back to what was said early on in your journey. It can be a dangerous game to be too proud to ask or accept help. Ask and accept with good grace and humility. It reaps amazing rewards.

Just back from the bank where I was told that even with a £35K deposit I'll never get a mortgage due to my medical history :o I'm grateful for what I do have in life right now (give or take... LOL, I'm no saint!) Onwards and upwards :D
