i think the balance is where most people either fail or give up ...striking it is a hard one ...and it is in a different place for everybody...but i think when you get it and stay with it i think that is when you succeed ...i am sure you will find yours soon enough ...i need to go find my own i think lol

I'm going for a long soak in a hot bubble bath shortly as that's where I always have my best ideas.
Looking forward to all your ideas as well.

Taxi - that's exactly what I have been trying to do - live as frugally as possible and throw extra at the debt. I didn't know about this site or want to know the totals of what I owed for a long time - I just knew I had more debt than I'd ever had before and it scared the carp out of me and I had to pay one debt at a time.

I'm so glad I found the site with it's advice, ideas and friendly voices so to speak - :A I've used loads of it.

But I've just put £2000 on a 0% cc for a year. I'd probably be advised to pay min payments and save the balance in high interest account. But I have made out a dd for £250 a month to pay it off till its gone - any extra cash I have is going to a saving accounts to save for the loan I have left. Like I said in previous post have set up dd for modest saving too. I NEED to see the amount going down PLUS once I've paid it - I can't be tempted to spend it on anything else. I know I'd get itchy palms if I tried saving to pay the 0%cc and 'just' buy this or that not to be missed bargain - I know what I'm like - which is how I got myself in a mess in the first place. So it probably isn't the 'best' option but it works for me. I find I have to play these 'mind games' to get me through - even if on paper there is a better method :o:o:o

Does all the illumination traffic hinder you or do you know loads of crafty cut throughs??

I totally agree with you Milann ..you definitely need to go with what works for you.
The illuminations traffic isn't a problem for me as I know a lot of short cuts. The only problems are when you have to pick up at a hotel on the prom and you can't remeber which two streets it's inbetween as then you can get caught up in it.
I find the worst traffic is when Blackpool are playing at home as they are all looking for parking spaces..that drives me nuts.

It was a really quiet day today!!!..probably because the weather was nice.
DH may do ok tonight as he's on his all night tonight...so can't come home until 7am..
It's our day off tomorrow and whilst he's sleeping I plan to do the accounts and then I can ring the accountant to arrange to drop them off to him.

DHs DD of £57.22 to Halifax CC came out today and I've also sent £200 to the savings and made a payment to Virgin of £30.37.
I'm waiting for DHS Halifax bill to arrive and then I'll pay in another large overpayment that I have in the house.
I need to work out the best time to send an overpayment to Barclaycard as I'm sure if you pay over the minimum before the DD is due out that it doesn't take the DD which is extremely annoying as I want to pay the DD as well as the overpayment.
Then I want to send an overpayment to DHs BMI card as well but think that's simple enough as the same as virgin.
Have updated my sig so just need to update post 1 of this diary.
