  • That does make sense Z.

You are doing well on the PAD bit Taxi.

Taxi, your debt busting is going really well and I agree with others that it is good to have some savings. That is one thing that worries me at the moment is having no back up money but if OH was off the road at least my money would still be coming in so the priorities would be covered.

Well done on the smoking as well x x

Hi taxi, you haven't mentioned your back for a while (or if you have I missed it) - how is the back pain?

    Thanks all....
ZTD ..I'm not good with figures...I think though that as well as paying the 0%s extra..I may throw some extra at the 6.9% ones so taht a chunk is still coming off.Barclays wasn't too bad as at least with the min payment it took £70+ odd off the balance but DHS BMI has a min payment of £25 but only knocked £9 odd off the bill.
Thanks Penguin..think it's 9 weeks tomorrow. You must be at least 3/4 months now so you are doing brilliantly.
Seaxwyn..thanks for asking about my back.It does hurt most of the time but if it's really bad I take painkillers to get me through the day.

Got a podiatry appointment this week as have 2 pairs of trainers that I need inserts for.I also have an appointment at DRs for my last lot of patches ..they will be the 7mg ones...

Was quite excited there as I've just been looking at the balances on CCs and just noticed the Halifax was £220 less than I thought..so have now adjusted my sig accordingly.
Can't wait to get the Virgin statement so I can update those figures. It almost feels like fun again.

Hi DT ....Will be nice to see I agree. It's hard to keep track of the balance as it incurs a slight bit of interest and the payments take a couple of days to show especially the weekend ones so I keep a running total for PAD but I don't count savings or PADS etc until actually paid off the actual debt IYSWIM.

Had an ok day at work today and have just checked banking etc...I've just paid £20 PAD to Virgin.
The main aim of the week is to get my accounts done.
I also signed up for the mortgage challenge and am number 96.

I noticed that you had signed up - it should be good I am really looking forward to reducing the mortgage even though I won't be debt free as although the interest rate is low now there is only one way it can go and as long as I can continue to get 0% deals on CCs I shall continue to BT and take the hit on the transfer fees as my mortgage is largely interest only I feel uncomfortable about it, at the same time I shall be reducing the CC debt and paying off the loan to my Mom - so the double debt attack is about to become a triple debt attack :o

    DT..think I understand that...
Mine is sort of similar!!...I will be paying the CCs as normal. Then I'll be putting money in EGG so that can count as paid off the mortgage as it gets more interest than the offset which is only 0.99%...when they both match I'll be mortgage free..good savings rates are where I can gain especially if mortgage interest rates stay low.I'm also going to look at upping the mortgage payments but they only sit in my offset account anyway.I have a few months to think of a cunning plan..
I don't by any means think that I'll pay it off in the 3 years as I need to get rid of all the other debt as well.
My aim was to try and be debt and mortgage free by feb 2014..my 50th...

I am supposed to be trying for 5/10/15 just before my 30th wedding anniversary but that is probably way too optimistic but I was looking for a target date like Financial Bliss' of 12/12/12 and that was the best I could find that was remotely possible. I have one for you though 14 02 2014 nice Valentines Day present :D and a palindrome too :rotfl:

    DTxx

Just realised its not a palindrome but not too far out
