Close shave for you, 40SM - I'm glad you got it done, such a difficult situation but you did well.I don't blame you.Is the next step mortgage free or does that automatically happen when you move into the next house?
When I sell this house, I'll have a big chunk to pay off the mortgage - almost £25k, I think. I'll keep some, because its a cheap way to do the alterations that are needed (2.5%p.a., as opposed to another loan of 8% minimum). That will leave about £8k on the mortgage, I think, and I'll have to work it out, but the "income" from the overpayments already on there, plus that big chunk off, will cancel out the remaining interest payment on that £8k, so I'll probably take a mortgage holiday, and let it just roll along. Then in September 2012, my endowment policy matures, and even tho its so carp, it will pay off the £8k, and leave maybe £20-£22k to pay off the French mortgage. That will have a penalty, so it won't all be capital repayment, but it'll be worth it, I think. I'll see.
I'll copy that onto my diary at some point in the next day or so, Taxi, so don't think you're seeing double when you see it again
Just off for a sec now to turn my face to the sun for a few minutes :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0
