I agree with EH, the gas seems OK but the leccy high.

Hope your sleep gets sorted soon, I find keeping a notebook by the side of my bed and writing anything down thats whizzing through my head helps to 'empty' it. I do most of my thinking when I should be sleeping! xx

The gas doesn't seem to bad esp when you consider the weather, we had a estimated bill b4 xmas for £40, but when we did the meter reading it was £80, but in that 3 month period we'd been away 3 weeks, know the next one will be higher becoz we've had the heating on, our gas fire got condemmend 4 yrs ago...... still in situ so heating it is.

But over the summer period we really noticed a difference in the bills as we would go days without the heating cutting in, just heating the water as and when.

It better fly through it's MOT.
Regarding a safety net I have a £2k o/d plus my american express that I pay off monthly in full.
    Hopefully that will be enough.
My mortgage is offset so once cards and loans gone..I'll be putting all spare in there and I can take it out anytime...
Will look over my electric usage ..I really need to switch some stuff off.

Hi taxi. I think it's a good plan to pay off the 0% cards before the interest goes up. You always have a good plan, glad to hear work is picking up and your debt problems will be over in next to no time.

Best money saving tip re elecy, I always use to leave mobile phones on charge overnight and laptops just plug in anywhere, got into the habit of only charging in room that I'm in, so keep an eye on them.

Little things like not leaving anything on standby and the microwave if its got a clock on it, read somewhere once that standyby uses about 90% of the elec that would use if on. x

That's probably what it is mum2one...there are 3 mobile phone chargers plugged in all the time..laptop plugged in all the time and desktop pc on standby...cc machine charger and pda charger..all these plugged in at all times and often with nothing charging at the time and probably a lot of other stuff I don't think about....
So that can be a challege to think about that lot and start unplugging them.
Seaxwyn....I definitely think it'sthe way to go now as 0% now seems hard to come by when S/E...though why CC think we are more of a risk I don't know as we can't be fired but PAYE can end up redundant.

ON MSE front..egg savings arrived today so have paid £1775 of DHs Halifax card(still waiting for the interest from EGG to arrive) and my loan came out today £322.31.
So need to udate my sig.

Didn't get to sleep until 4am so didn't go to work...ahhhhhhhh....
Got a phonecall to say that my phone was back at the shop so went to pick that up and bought myself a pairof jeans £5,jumper £10 and top £20 from Evans ...paid with vouchers so still got £95 left to spend.
    That'sabout it from me.

Hope you get the sleeping sorted soon - no good missing work cos of being too tired but you can't drive when like that. You'll have to have a walk along the sea front - it always knocks me out when I've walked along the sea front there.

I've got the opposite problem and could sleep the clock round at the moment - haven't stopped yawning all afternoon and my get up and go has got up and gone. Think the last few weeks have caught up on me.

    Sleep well
