I took out a contract with t-mobile got my phone that was fine i got a samsung soul, i couldnt work it, so i contacted them and since it was within a week i could change the phone so i organised this, i was told i would have to send the entire contract back cancel it and re-apply, this was fine, i was told id have my price plan refunded to me and i would only have to pay around £9 for my outside of plan allowance, this was ok. Lots of phone calls later, i was having problems applying for a new contract because apparently my old one hadnt cancelled yet... 3 weeks passed and i finally got it all sorted out... so i got my new contract and thought that was the ordeal over. So they then send me a bill for my previous contract totalling £65.64 this was not right, so i phoned and told them this wasnt correct and id been told i was only to pay £9. So someone said they would deal with it for me, i heard nothing so i left it, then a couple weeks later the "collections" department phoned me saying i owe them this money or my contract would be cancelled... wait a minute, i don't owe them £65, they caught me in a rather bad mood at the time, needless to say i had stern words, so they hung up saying they had to go investigate. Couple weeks later i got a phone call at 9am on a sunday morning from someone from t-mobile applogising for all my inconvenience and that he would be dealing with the account to make sure it was all sorted out and that i was to no longer worry. Now the other day about 6 weeks down the line i receive a phone call from a debt company saying i owe the money to them, the woman was very uprubt (spelling?) on the phone and this made me even more angry, she explained they had looked into it and had made the conclusion that i was to pay this money... but with the bill being so high... my previous price plan had not been refunded to me and how could i have used £65 in 5 days...? So i said that i would contact t-mobile on my own before i paid any money and she said "you refuse to pay!!" and hung up on me, so the next day i receive a letter from this debt company explaining that i owe them that balance and that if i do not pay they will not hesitate in proceeding with legal action... is this right?
After all they did promise me a full refund of my price plan which was never done, someone did phone me and tell me not to worry about the money then weeks later i'm getting threatening and harrasing phone calls, and surely if t-mobile had made this decision they themselfs should have taken it up with me before selling my debt onto a debt recovery company?
I have e-mailed t-mobile telling them how disgusted i am at this and i have asked for in writting the reason why the decision was made, i'm yet to hear anything from them.

Did you ever receive a bill from t-mobile? I am with them and if you log onto the t-mobile website you can view your bill online so long as you have the mobile number I think??
If not I would ring them and ask for an itemised bill so you can see what exactly they are charging you so you can then dispute it.
Have you kept the proof of postage from when you sent the phone back? You may need this to prove that you only had the phone for so long.0 -
