As it says above, he simply won't get involved. he withdrawns money from places that charge him £1.50 and generally doesn't seem bothered............Help!!!!

My husband is a bit the same but as I have continued to be MSE he has taken a bit on board and is better now. You just have to do your bit- you can't make him into someone you want him to be. Acting as his parent will push him into a rebelious child and make things worse.
Good luck0 -
Can you do him a spreadsheet of all the 'little' things that he wastes money on and then show him how much he would have if he'd saved that instead?
ie in a month he made 10 withdrawals at £1.50 each, that's £15 and he could have had 4 pints.
I second Mrs Boo Boo as well, keep doing what you're doing and he probably will gradually pick things up. Tell him whenever you make a good saving/make money as well, but in an excited way not a naggy way lol. I did that with my OH and he wanted in on some of the action then as well!Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
I just find it frustrating, he looks at the price of nothing. If he goes to Tesco for a tin of beans, he comes back with 4 bags of food!
I think I am going to get my wages put in another account for saving so we have to economise.Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0 -

I agree about showing him what he's spent over the month. I started doing this with OH, he was flabbergasted when he saw how much he actually spent on beers and going out as he always thought we had "no" money leftover - and realised we did but he was spending most of it on rubbish!
Now he's the one telling me off if I look at branded stuff first if we go shopping and asks if we really need something if I pick something up that isn't on the shopping list - and I get what I say to him, "that could go towards x/y/z"... Funnily enough it's usually that the cost of x/y/z could go towards something HE wants to save up for but at least he gets it now!Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

i agree with showing him what he's wasting his money on. I went from being overdrawn every month to saving at least £300 by cutting out taking the odd tenner out here and there and then spending it on crap.
I am so thankful that my OH is in the 'if we don't need it, don't buy it' camp - he always talks me out of buying stuff that we don't need. I am so grateful because I've just started maternity leave and it's going to be a struggle as it is!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
