PCN Box Junction

I have been issued a PCN for Entering and stopping in a box junction when prohibited in The Broadway/Herbert Road, Southall (3).
I was travelling behind a car which suddenly stopped (that couldn't cross box) after I had already entered into the box.So on the ground that at the time I entered into the box, the exit was not blocked by stationary traffic, can I appeal? As there was a car behind, I couldn't reverse as well
Not able to post my link in this forum but just to describe the position there were 2 cars in the box junctions and mine was the 2nd car ie. at the back side of box.
As per photo looks like, the car in front of me in the box was blocked by the blue car which turned from left street, which caused issue both of us. I think the car in front of me also got the PCN as that was stuck on the box as well
Is there any possibility here to appeal?
Also can you please confirm if I appeal within 14 days and in case the final decision go against me then am I going to pay the discounted charges of 60 or would it be 120 as the appeal process would be completing beyond 14 days?
Regards

the problem you have is you are meant to wait until the box is clear and theres enough space for your car on the other side.
i know in the real world we dont in moving traffic but that is the law you would be appealing against0 -
Just as custardy said I'm afraid,
No point in appealing - just pay up and smile.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Box junctions. These have criss-cross yellow lines painted on the road (see 'Road markings'). You MUST NOT enter the box until your exit road or lane is clear. However, you may enter the box and wait when you want to turn right, and are only stopped from doing so by oncoming traffic, or by other vehicles waiting to turn right. At signalled roundabouts you MUST NOT enter the box unless you can cross over it completely without stopping.
[Law TSRGD regs 10(1) & 29(2)] "
Says it all really.0 -
As above, You shouldn't enter a yellow box junction unless you are CERTAIN you can exit without stopping in it (Unless you are turning right and your exit is only blocked by oncoming traffic).
EDIT: Damn. too slow!!0 -
Please see photo link in the subject line.0

Both oncoming cars are breaking the law.0

Both oncoming cars are breaking the law.
The OP 'may' have been in contravention but the car in front certainly wasn't as it was obstructed by the car making the illegal manouvre from the side street -- ignoring 'right of way' and crossing the 'give way' line.
take it to PePiPoo forum mate. Another appellant for this notorious junction there at the moment.
Ealing frequently kock up the appeal/enforcement process so that is one hope for a start.0 -
I'd ask other posters to have a second look at that pic and realise what Ealing have actually 'set up' here. Guess what is immediately after the box --- and why there exactly!LOL.
Why no signals on the junction itself? No prizes for the real reason.0 -

.
Sorry, they are still technically breaking the law, there are no exceptions.
None of us know the actual timing of events, the car from the side street may well have been there when both oncoming cars entered the box junction.0 -

To be blunt. This is not a signalled roundabout so the the above reference is irrelevant and in fact says nothing, it merely confuses.
Box junctions are one of the most misunderstood things in Traffic Regulations..0
