Use for extra thick double cream?

I bought a huge pot of extra thick double cream last night - reduced of course. I thought I'd make ice cream with it but I see from pot it says for spooning and is not suitable for whipping, freezing. Can anyone suggest a use for it?

Thanks

Becky

  • I can't see why it wouldn't be suitable for whipping or freezing - I was going to suggest you make butter with it - but if you can't whip it......Strange!!

  • I'd make butter with it anyway!
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice

I'd make them little quennelles (sp) and freeze them.
I thought you could freeze cream anyway even if it's extra thick.

    Hiya

Any ideas what I can use this up for. It is dated 29 Dec but still tastes okay. I have about 3/4 of tub left and suppose I could use some on desert tonight, but then what ....

Can I freeze it ?, as I have some casseroles / soups that wouldn't mind a stir through ???

    Hi izoomzoom,

There's an older thread on this that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep all the replies together.
