Need to turn tv/dvd/sky off for a week - questions!

Hi
Am having my bedroom decorated this week so tomorrow Il need to unplug my tv/dvd rec/Sky (old box on multiroom)
I seem rather jinxed with setting up any technology:o
Il be putting sticky labels on all leads and taking photos so I can have a good go at setting it all back up next weekend but does anyone know if the items after 5 days of being unplugged will need totally re tuning as if from new or will it be a case of 'plug in and go'?
Do I need to let Sky know It will be off and not linked to phone line (main Sky+ in lounge will be on as normal)
Will I need to ring Sky after to reset the card or anything?
Am so hoping I can set this all up again after as dont want to pay anyone to come out - so many leads it all looks so complicated!
I know if we have had a powercut its been fine after a few hours off, but after 5 days Im worried nothing will work.
Thanks in advance for any info

hi there,
it can be daunting setting up equipment such as this but not too worry. there are plenty of people here you can probably talk you through it, myself included.
As for the contact sky bit, don't bother. I very much doubt that they will contact you about it either and if they did, you say you was on holiday. It is quite rare that they contact people about not having their box plugged in for such a short period of time. Sky won't need to reset anything either.

Don't worry about it, do as you suggested, mark the cables, take photo's, no need to contact Sky, just put it all back as it was, make sure that all connections are correct, switch on.....sorted.0

As its a multiroom box Sky do take note if its not phoning home but I doubt for such a short period they will take action. Even if they did it's just a warning letter telling you to plug it in or they will charge two seperate full packages.
Just make sure it connects to the phone line ok when plugged back in.0 -
Thanks everyone - In theory will unplug it all MOn eve back on Fri eve if work is done on time.
Im not to most confident at set up as I normally seem to mess it all up - but hopefully this time round Il be ok.
Wish it was just one lead to each item:rolleyes:
Does not help tv/sky/dvd at the end of my bed and not much room between end of bed and cupboard to sort leads.
My Sky multiroom has so many leads Im sure they didnt need to add that many?
Will see how I get on Fri and will post at the weekend if I get stuck!
