We save money every month and use some of it for holidays.

For the last 4 years we have saved and something satisfying about being on holiday and knowing you do not still have to pay for it when you come home.

In the days of running up debt we would ahve thought nothing of putting it on credit caar but even then would have still saved for spending money.

We are going on holiday in 6 weeks time, we paid holiday off in June and had spending money finished a few weeks later and have already started to save towards next year.
    TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T

    Cut out booze!

No booze = five holidays a year! ;)
    Gone ... or have I?
  • I save in advance, I wouldn't go on holiday if I had to borrow the money but most people I know do that.

I'm off to Skiathos with my daughters in 11 days! :) YAY!

This is something I will have to look at in the very near future, I nor my family have had a holiday for years and its about time we took the leap. I don't want to get into debt for it so there will be no borrowing so I'd expect paying monthly over a year to have it all paid for the following years trip would be my best bet.

What grips me is when you see the "You know who's" going on holiday twice a year and not working a single day!

Me too. What with double points starting next week as well, AFAIK, it will be even easier to save Tesco clubcard points.:D

Shame that Virgin and Cosmos are introducing a ceiling for Tesco-funded holidays though. I think I shall be looking at converting my points to Airmiles for next year's Tesco-paid-for jaunt.

Save. I couldn't bear the thought of borrowing and paying back for months for something I no longer have.

When we first started going abroad it was a case of saving like mad after paying the deposit to pay off the balance 8 weeks before. Then whatever could be saved after that was the spending money. Blew the lot and came back skint, but was never in debt.
