YUP! same thing happened to me..only this was about 2 years ago. I went for a pub lunch, had a lovely chicken pie and asked for the rest to be taken home with me in a paper bag or whatever. and they made me sign a piece of paper saying 'if you get sick from this you can't sue us' That was fine by me. I wouldnt sue anyway lol.

If they REFUSE me my own food though - that's a different matter. i'd be super annoyed and ask for a refund.

We had the same experience. We'd had a lovely meal and cut off the fat from our meat (trying to slim). Knew that our dog would love the leftovers and asked waitress for a bag. She said that she wasn't allowed to give us a bag because of health and safety, but she might accidentally drop a plastic bag beside our table next time she passed!

A few years ago when i got married, a couple of old ladies turned up at the end of the night with plastic boxes to take away what was left of our buffet - they werent' even guests - that is perhaps their weekly social event - thought it took some nerve!

fair play to the ladies.it was only going to the bin.:D
