My colleage has one and I really dont like the way it curls up at the bottom. The Android Interface looks real nice but wouldnt be my thing. I have an iPhone and apart from the shoddy cell operator, it has been good to me the last 7 months.

I don't have a hero, but am on my 4th HTC phone and can't see me moving away from HTC - I currently have a Touch HD

I've had this phone for a few weeks now. In fact I'm typing this message on it. It's been really good so far, i'd recommend it!

The Hero represents a valiant effort from HTC -- though unfortunately, the company appears to have bitten off more than its last-generation hardware can chew. If this build of Android were to be loaded atop the guts of a 3GS or Pre, the performance would likely be astounding, but fused with the two-year old architecture of previous devices, it's mostly disappointing. We're not saying this isn't the best build of Android on the market -- we think it is. What we are saying is that this build is a bit too much for a device like the Hero to handle, and that makes for an uneven, sometimes frustrating experience. Going into the review, we desperately wanted to love this phone, but given the combination of a few poor hardware choices and an OS which outclasses the device it runs on, we can only recommend that you enter at your own risk. HTC has an explosive entry in the smartphone category with what its done on the software side... now it just needs the hardware to match.

I read this the other day, and it's a good read. A reluctant iPhone user gives it up for a month in order to try out Android on a G1.

hey...... i got a htc hero last friday and to be perfectly honest it is an amazing phone with all the android technology....

THE CONS: YOU CANNOT CONNECT YOUR BLUETOOTH TO ANOTHER PHONE IT ONLY CONNECTS TO AN BLUETOOTH HEADSET

MY INTERNET DOES NOT WORK ORANGE TOLD ME IT WAS A COMMON FAULT WITH THESE PHONES BUT I AM GETTING A NEW ONE SO MAYBE IT IS MY PHONE BUT WHO KNOWS...

SIM ERROR KEEPS APPEARING AND MY CONTACTS GET LOST I RESAVE MY CONTACTS THEN THEY END UP GOING WALK ABOUTS LOL

BUT OTHER THAN THAT I WOULD PERSONALLY GET ONE OR TRY THE HTC MAGIC ON VODAFONE NOW THAT IS CLASSY :j

Can't say I've noticed any real speed problems on my phone - just the occasional slowdown when something is going on in the background. Apparently using a class 6 memory card is supposed to fix this, I have one on order so I'll see how it goes.

roses_babe - I had a bit of trouble with the internet at first but a restart sorted it out. Sometimes the browser benefits from a re-start - it might be a good idea to clear the cache too.. i'd recommend downloading the taskiller app so you can shut a particular app down without having to restart the phone.

No not really but androids based on linux so it wins out. Besides symbian isn't open yet.

the best one i have found is £85 for the phone and £20 per month for 18 months on t-Mobile. 1gb data, 100 mins and text
