strange LAN message

Its nothing to worry about Catford. Any unused LAN port like the one on the back of your machine is liable to show up as 'network connection unplugged' and you may see a screen icon with a red cross through it bottom right of your screen.
It could also be an unused bluetooth or wireless connection.
Just ignore it.0 -

Near the bottom of the window there should be an option to 'show me when network is connected'
Sorry to be a bit vague, im @ work just now and dont use windows here
Thanks for the tip--I went into network connection properties and saw that I could disable the LAN connection.I did that and everything works ok and the icon went. :j0
