Hi folks

Windows Antivirus Pro has downloaded onto my PC !
Didn't ask for it, didn't say OK to anything !

Showing label "TODO: <File Description>" on toolbar

Keeps saying I've been infected, and would I like to continue.

Can't access 'Add or Remove Programs' to shift it.

Can't run ABG or Spybot as it say's they're infected, it says 'running of application is impossible'

And there's a big notice 'embedded' on my desktop screen warning about the same stuff

Try downlload and run Superantispyware and Ccleaner but if it wont let you download then use a USB stick to download and store on from another uninfected PC.

On another PC download Malwarebytes and save to a USB memory stick, transfer USB memory to infected PC and install / run the program.

you may need to download on another PC then install on the infected one , you may also need to rename combofix.exe to something else , like cleanmypc.exe to get it to run

Malwarebtytes to follow as this will not break the back of the infection on its own like combofix , post the malwarebytes log whne its finished its scan

Baby mechanic. I have just had this nightmare, turned up on Thursday without invitation, and i have McAfee and Superantispyware and Ccleaner!

Go into start menu, click on search i.e search files and folders, type in "sysguard.exe" - it should find 3 files, one called sysguard.exe and 2 others with very similar names. Right click on them when they show up and delete them. If this doesnt wotk in normal mode, restart pc in safe mode and try again.

Good luck, if it works then it it is welll worth getting superantispyware and ccleaner and runni gthem both once your pc is clean.

Thanks guys, was busy going through the suggestions, then got waylayed for a cat rescue - DON'T ASK !!!!!!!

Have used safe mode to remove the pesky blighter from the system, and Malwarebytes didn't appear to pick it up, but found 6 things to get rid of !

Can't find the pesky blighter anywhere now, but still have the 'Danger' notice on my desktop, so am currently doing a system restore to see if that helps.

Would it help to run a HijackLog, and see what that shows ?

And would my PC be at risk to anything whilst all this was going on ?

There's an update logo on my toolbar, yellow shield with an exclamation mark, has been chatting to me for a few days now.
Do I download these updates ?
I presume they're from Microsoft ?

Glad you are sorted Baby mechanic, When it happened to me I was pulling my hair out and the air was blue, whoever sits there dreaming these up should be slowly tortured..

As for cat rescue, priorities! Hope the furrie is ok?
