If you use a Sony Ericcson phone download to your computer/laptop the programme
"myphone explorer"

http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php

This is free software , writter asks for a donation, to which i have donated twice
If you sit at a pc a lot you can explorer your phone much simpler than the Sony Ericsson "pc suite"
Texting is then just like your e-mail account on your pc, and there is much more
Check it out you Sony Erricson users

Might give it a whirl on my old sony phone - there is something else called mobiledit which is apprently meant to do similar things with any model of phone (not tried that yet).

Need usb cable from phone to pc or a bluetooth dongle
You can also archive your texts create backup images of your mobile and reinstall that on another Sony Ericcson
Address book just like your outlook (if you use Outlook) and you can syncronise your Outlook
Upload /Download, invaluable for SE users

True but all of that can be done with the sony pc suite I thought. The sending of sms from PC through phone would make a program more unique though (for now). :-)

Uploads/downloads I just use direct pc data connection (most phones support that).

Also noticed that my new provider t-mobile has something called Webtexts - which I assume means I can text by logging into my online account and using that to send mesages using up my allownace persumably.
