Hello, what a miserable day - all foggy, misty and yucky drizzle, so no lawn mowing yet again, thats a whole week that I have not been able to do it.
However managed to discover the joy of lemons/vinegar in metal polishing so have vowed to use up all the rubbish cleaning material I have and go back to real OS stuff. Made some scrummy blackcurrant and oat muffins and poppy seed bread yesterday and will be making more muffins for my rail trip tomorrow. (unfortunatley the muffins will get scoffed by who I am visiting).
Must get more winter preps done today, definatley a NSD as got lentil and spinach curry reaady for when i am hungry.
Must work out where I am going for my walk/run as can't do the coastal run in all honesty as don't want to be an accident waiting to happen. (would be highly embarrassing).
Off to reupholster one more chair seat and work out how to make some cushion covers with the remaining fabric (whilst watching the athletics of course).
Hope everyone has a nicer weather day than down here.

Happy Birthday Donny Gal - Have a wonderful day :bdaycake:

It`s trying to rain here atm but all the washing is dry and ironed and put away :D i`ve not managed that for quite a while, it is very blustery outside but it has managed to blow all the big black clouds away so i`m not complaining.

This morning i have been picking tomatoes from the greenhouse and doing some batch cooking too, i woke extra early so have achieved lots today, i`m off to w*rk in 5 mins so must make a move.

    Have a great day everyone.

Afternoon all, hope you are all well.

Happy birthday donnygal, hope you have a good day and enjoy your night out
redruby - have a good time at your barbeque

I am at work, having cleared the weekend so OH and I could spend some quality time together, he decides to go out with his friends, so I am at work in a strop :) Men can be pants sometimes :) *sigh* I am going to buy cake in a minute and sit in front of ebay for a couple of hours (I'm too lazy to do conventional retail therapy).

I have been asked to make a cake in the shape of a motorcycle  I don't know where to start. I'm going to be given photos of the bike  I went to get some raisans yesterday and was horrified at how expensive they were. I haven't bought them for ages as the last job lot I bought was turned into a light mincemeat (>8 kgs) which I tend to use in fruit cake rather than just currents as it takes the chewyness away and gives a really soft cake. I've just run out so needed to refill the jars and got a bit of a shock :) Might need to change the recipe a bit. *sigh* Dried apples and plums might be the way forward to bulk it out a bit - must get the dehydrator out of the cupboard :)

I found some honey fungus on the way home from work, quite a lot of it too :)

Have a good day all, cel x

    Hi Guys!

Today has been a little rough for me as I overdid yesterday, but heck....I had a lovely time and dont care:D

OH picked our first 3 figs of the tree today and they were delish. We just ate them raw after a good wash and were lovely, sweet and juicy. We also had carrots and cabbage from the garden with our dinner and HM coleslaw for lunch. Our garden seems to produce great fruit and veg. The apple tree was only planted 2 years and established already with about 30+ golden delicious apples so far and the fig tree was about 75cm when we planted 4 years ago and now is over 7 foot and producing lots of figs. OH also pulled a swede for tomorrow to take to friends and they are so expensive atm in the shops! Very pleased with the outcome this year as last year was a bit awash. OH has said about putting some raised beds in...what would you suggest growing thats easy? We also have beetroot, toms and onions in the garden.

DD is having a great time and hopefully she hasnt got burnt today. I have really missed her, but know she is having a good time....she is still my baby though:rolleyes:

Sold another few bits on ebay this week through a mate and 4 books through amazon. Pleased with that.

My friend called today and she was very upset on the phone. She thinks her OH is having an affair and TBH, it sounds and looks as if he is! She's coming over for coffee this week, so we can have a proper chat then. They have 3 kids under 10.

Anyway, OH is asking if I want to watch something, so I had better go and spend some time with him.

    Hugs to all.

    Good evening guys,

Happy birthday DG, and also a belated happy birthday to you to Elona. I hope you both have/had a great time.

The garden is now mostly done. Just one length of fence to do and I have bought some lavender and hardy fuchias for the two big borders and planted them out. Next year I should only need to buy a row of marigolds for the front of both. All of the pots have a selection of flowering shrubs in and it looks really pretty out there.

Because of the forecast for the next couple of days I have abandoned the garden for now and have begun decorating the kitchen and utility. Utility first as the room is bigger and there is much more painting to be done there. Walls have been prepped, ceiling is done, first coat and cutting in done. Two of the four applainces have been pulled out cleaned, walls done behind and floor scrubbed but at 9pm I had to give up as I am shattered. The house had a quick clean through when the kids went to bed but it will get a thorough clean after I have finished decorating. I can't believe how much junk I shifted out of there this morning so that will be well and truly thinned out before it gets shifted back.

Cheats lunch today - sandwiches, crisps and yoghurts and my eldest bless him offered to go to the chippy for tea so nice and easy mealwise.

Pen-pin - I am glad you enjoyed yourself yesterday.

Hugs to all in need tonight, anyone heard from Sunnygirl yet? I hope she is well.

    Smoky. xxxx
