0870: Not free, but inclusive. What times dependant on your package.

    0845: 6p/min
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

FREE !!! To get Sky Talk you have to pay at least £198 a year for Sky Digital.

SKY dont offer any FREE calls their INCLUSIVE in your bundle, which you pay for in your overall package.

On top of the 6p a minute to 0845 their is the 8p connection charge.

Sky Line Rental increases to £11 a month on 1/9/2009

I thought only the 0870 numbers were inclusive and not the 0845 i may be wrong but i will check.

Just in case you didnt know if you have sky talk the 0844 no. is free evenings and weekends.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • It will depend on your package.

If you have Sky Talk Freetime, from 1st August 2009, 0870 calls will be free during evenings & weekends, with no connection fee, up to 1 hour, but you can redial.

Sky Talk Unlimited is free for 0870 all day every day.

Perversely, I don't think 0845 numbers are included in that.

Why not? So would a 1 second call to an 0845 number cost 14p??

Hardly a fair comparison as the £198 you quote is for the TV package. That would cost you £198 whether you had a telephone package with Sky or not. So, effectively, it is free, though only available if you take a Sky subscription.

I've been away for a few years and in that time, someone seems to have introduced connection charges. Not sure why this was allowed but it really does make a difference. Going up to 9p soon !

    Line rental up I agree.

Not including 0845 was a mistake I think but there are actually not so many people left on 0845 as most migrated to other numbers where they could make money.

Yes, that is a mess. Talk Talk is much better for such numbers but has atrocious service and imbecilic staff.

Of course not and it's great to see the more intelligent users of this forums explaining it's not and never will be "free". As for the other people saying it's free maybe they can get a job in a Sky call centre.

You cant get Sky Talk unless you take Sky TV. Leaving that to one side all 0845 calls are chargeable anyway so how can they be free?

Further Sky Talk price increases due from 2/10/09 see

  • Proud to say we have gotten rid of Sky and, with the way we were treated regarding the migration of our broadband, I have vowed NEVER to allow them to darken our door ever again. Bleeding horrendous company. We now have a Humax freeview recorder and are very pleased with it.
