Have received my PAC code(got out due to price increases) and am in the process of swapping the number to a PAG phone.

Will Orange let me start a new via Dialaphone? Or should I sign up in my partners name?

You can sign in your own name, there wouldn't be a problem.

If you sign up in your wife's name then whenever you call them you'll need her there to clear security before they'll talk to you.

Id give it a few days untill their systems have fully updated with your cancellation. If your contract is still partly active they may decline another one depending what your credit rating is like
  • If youve just got out of an Orange contract, you'll have a PAC code beginning ORAxxxxxx. You can't use this to start a new Orange account. You'll need to go to a different provider.
  • My credit rating is pretty good, apart from having loads of credit card I aint canceled but don't use(not sure if that affects it). I'm porting the number to a Vodafone PAG just to keep the number and a spare cheapo phone.

Have been told number will trasfer on 18th, so will prob should wait til after then?

Sounds like a good idea. As Bill says above, you can't pac into the same network that issued it. You'd need to go to payg on another network and then get their pac and transfer back to Orange. . .

    Yeah, that would work.

Pac to Voda payg, wait a few days (you can start the new Orange contract whenever you like as Orange let you pac in at any point you like).

Ask Voda for the pac for the new payg (which now has your old Orange number on it).

Call Orange and give them the Voda pac and your old numbers back on Orange.
  • Cool thanks will prob do that!
