you know hows word gets about,,,,,,,,,

It's the 'other half' comment that got me - since I'm going to be a single mum:o. Not sure if he was digging, but he quickly followed it up with an email address ''in case I fancy a chat sometime''.

  • Wow, this thread moves so quick!

Cheers for the advice ladies re my potential size at 20 weeks, I have had a friend say before that you don't start getting big until you want to, as in, if you have a reason to stay slimmer for, the baby won't show until you're ready. Does that sound like a bit of wishful thinking?!

Will speak to the bridal shop tomorrow and see what they suggest.

Isn't it strange how, yesterday, when I had no idea about the baby I felt completely normal, and today everything feels different. All truly surreal at the moment xx

Well, he hasn't seen the size of me lately.

In fact, I had some pretty insensitive comments in the office again today.
A new boy asked if I was expecting (bless him - at 37 weeks i didn't think it was in question) and the girls were saying how much fatter (yes, fatter, what a truely lovely way of putting it) I am than I was a year ago. Admittedly I've passed the 4.5 stone mark but even so, a bit unnecessary I thought.

I've mailed him to say that dad and I didn't work out and that I am really looking forward to being a single mum and spending a lot of time with my daughter so hopefully he was just being friendly cos reading it back now that i've sent it it sounds a bit blunt.

Oh 32b hope all goes well with your plan, sounds like it's really tough for you and your poor sis, will be keeping fingers crossed you get things sorted tomorrow :)

    EA that conservatory is gorgeous!

Well I've cheered right up, after a bit of a strop, a bit (read...lot) of a cry, I spoke to my mum who has organised for me to see an obstetrics consultant first thing tomorrow for a scan, and to go over everything with me (my 12wk scan was pants) including the nuchal fold, thankfully he's a family friend who is a really really lovely guy and said he didn't want me to spend weeks worrying about the lack of heartbeat. God bless him. Now I can't wait to see the little wriggler again, though OH can't make it so will be taking my mum along for her first peek at her first grandchild :) Ahh so happy I could cry all over again!
